I do not sell traffic to anyone promoting toolbars - and never will. It is a shame what some asswipes out there are doing to our industry recently. It is pitiful.

It's the fucking same. It's creating a market for the toolbar scammers.

I think it needs to be said that besides the obvious spyware pushers there are also a few good toolbars out there that do not fuck up your PC and not hijack anything.

They just get overshadowed by the shady ones.

It's like with dialers in the past. Ya had good ones and bad ones.

this is the same.

Close, but no.

Dialers have a legitamate purpose, love 'em or hate 'em. They are a viable billing option for many countries that credit cards are not commonly used.

On the other hand we have these toolbars that only just being blantanly used to rape surfers and are making the Internet an ugly enviroment for people all over the world.

That's not what I meant.

You had dialers charging the regular rates and you had the ones charging insane premium rates

You had dialers that were conform FTC standards and you had autodialing, autoinstalling and auto reconnecting ones I even seen some that wouldn't close rigging phonebills to insane proportions.

Toolbars it's the same.

You have some that do just that install a searchbar, provide the uninstall and that's that and you have those that fill up ya pc with spyware.

Hope that clears it up a bit if not I'll post some examples to make my case

Yes this one:

http://adult.yoursearchnow.com/webmasters/

If memory serves me they offer an honest toolbar for their affiliates and they run a good PPC search engine.

1)
Are you sure about that?
Are you 100% positive that the google toolbar isn't collecting data that can be "used against" you later on?

2)
I dont think that the google toolbar team is selling traffik

I say: "Don't trust what you can't see... There is no such thing as a free ride / toolbar"

Ehm... that statement was actually to keep things at the original topic

So... What I mean is that the toolbars that was discussed was the ones that actually generate traffic, hence might have traffic for sale... I don?t think that the Google toolbar have traffic for sale...

So - my point is: No need to talk about Google toolbar in relation to the topic of this thread...

I could also recommend some very nice traffic lights... but what would that have to do with anything in this thread???
