![]() It must have something to do with the quality of the line between my house and the nearest ADSL station, although some speed tests say that they are not reliable for measuring of speeds over 2mbit/s.
Should I downgrade to the package that offers 2400kbit/s, or is there something I could do? I use XP, maybe there are some tweaks I have to do to get it to utilize the whole line? ![]() |

yeah 8000 would probably be under ideal conditions and if you live right next to one of their boxes.
![]() I'd downgrade.. 2+ megabits is enough speed for most everything. ![]() |

Because of the way TCP works it's unlikely that you will see much practical benefit from such a high line speed, UNLESS you have a lot of concurrent connections happening. If you use a download manager that can grab 10 different sections of a file at the same time then you'll probably see your line being used more effectively.
Unless you're a leech, it's probably better just to downgrade... |

Thanks for the input, guys. I'll phone them and downgrade to 2400 tomorrow. It's certainly better than the 1200 I had before, any way.
