Tell them to drop the singer. That shit went out a while back IMO. The growling doesn't really do it for me but the band has some tight riffs for only being together for that long. Sound good. Where were they recording and what does your brother play?

Not bad. I think they should find a new singer and go for more of a Queens of the Stone Age sound (unless their hearts are deeply into being a metal band). I think they'd get further.

The slower parts of the song sound good (except for the singing - too generic), but the hard parts remind me too much of Slipknot.

You're right. Poison was much better music.

Just saying I would much rather have what we have today than what's been crapped out in the past is all.

if poison is the only band that comes to your mind from that decade or decades past you got issues. NOT 1 band that has that sound like headless' brother will EVER live up to traditional rock and roll.

See music creativity runs in spurts. Rock through the 60's and early 70's was great. In the 80's it went to a 3 chord, cookie cutter style of tight gay jeans, jean jackets and lots of lipstick and hairspray, now it's coming back around where the musicians are artists. Let me name some sucky bands of the past, Dokken, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Queensryche, Poison, Cheap Trick, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi...shall I continue. Each of these "bands" played 3 chords in 90% of their songs and had less artistic ability than Tiny Tim. The bands today are raw and innovative. My music timeline stops at Pink Floyd and picks back up at Pantera.

Once upon a time
Not so long ago

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union?s been on strike
He?s down on his luck...it?s tough, so tough
Gina works the diner all day
Working for her man, she brings home her pay
For love - for love

She says we?ve got to hold on to what we?ve got
?cause it doesn?t make a difference
If we make it or not
We?ve got each other and that?s a lot
For love - we?ll give it a shot

Chorus:
Whooah, we?re half way there
Livin? on a prayer
Take my hand and we?ll make it - I swear
Livin? on a prayer

Tommy?s got his six string in hock
Now he?s holding in what he used
To make it talk - so tough, it?s tough
Gina dreams of running away
When she cries in the night
Tommy whispers baby it?s okay, someday

We?ve got to hold on to what we?ve got
?cause it doesn?t make a difference
If we make it or not
We?ve got each other and that?s a lot
For love - we?ll give it a shot

Chorus

We?ve got to hold on ready or not
You live for the fight when it?s all that you?ve got

WHAT IN THE FUCK IS THAT GAY SHIT?!?!?

I lived through that music bro. I am SOOOO glad it's gone. The only music from then I can even tolerate is Motley Crue cause it was all drugs, motercycles, strip clubs and limos. They were the originals.

I havent found the creativity in that bullshit growling and screaming whatsoever. Same power chords over and over and over and over. You know whats funny is that people change with times and those bands that you consider crap and shitty in the 80's sold more albums than any of this crap that we are talking about today.

Even the band members laugh at how stupid they were back then and how heartless the music was. Watch VH1's behing the music with some of those bands lol. The reason it sold so much back then is the same reason Jay-Z sells so much now, because it makes little teen white girls panties wet. Album sales do not equal artistic ability. The 80's were retarded and I am glad I made it through and out.

those 80's bands will still be known 20 years from now unlike slipknot, sorry truth hurts, they suck

Ya know just think how people feel about how they were in the 60's 70's 80's and soon to be 90's, this is nothing new, people will look back 20 years from now on bands like slipknot and say "omg look at how atrocious and ridiculous we looked"

You're right. I just loaded up my Iron Maiden. There WAS something good that came from the 80's. Thanks.

Its not bad, really the guitar is great, good production

The song is kinda generic though and the lead singers voice is a little immature.

Not really musically dynamic or expressive, I know that might sound funny but the song really isn't saying or expressing anything to me.
