GPS Cell Phones

Is Nextel the only mfr with a GPS cellphone? Just saw a commercial on TV announcing this new model. Pretty cool.

That run a voice directional app on them?? I haven't seen that here in the states yet, except on the large combo PDA/Cell Phones.

This one is on a normal size phone and it has a mapping app just like a moving navigation GPS in a car.

Not sure on US companies, but I know most new Samsung models support this feature.

If it wasn't for legal issues, I'd love to use GPS technology to reach our members and let them know their match is in their area

are you talking a gps receiver that will tell you where you are/going? or a gps ala e911 where the police can find you if you call 911? VERY different. There are huge privacy concerns with the latter, even though their are companies(and websites) that will let a private person 'track' a certain phone.

dunno about you, but that freaks my shit out.

There are gps chips in Sprint cell phones. They call it a location indicator and it can be turned off but 911 can still track you. If you have a 3G phone look on the screen, if you see a cross hair that is "location indicator."
