Very interesting indeed. I would be very interested in seeing how some people do using this micro-payment system

Lens - with all your content and traffic - it would be a home run - have webmasters send traffic to it and they make a % also - right within the payasyouclick system!!

You better give up or I'll pull out the heavy artillery.

devilspost 07-21-2004 06:24 PM

This is kind of a pain in the ass....

To sign up for a merchant account :

Sign up for a Surfer account, if possible using a promotion code. This will give you a couple of dollars free in your surfer account to try it out for free.

Visit some sites and spend some free money. This will give you a feel for how pay-per-click and microsubscription links work.

Convert your surfer account to a merchant account by following the link in the Profile page

You know sometimes you have to actually do something to make money, we're so spoiled in this industry

It still beats building a brick wall in the heat - you have to carry the cement and bricks, mix the cement, place the bricks, drink beer and you never see any pussy!! lol

thinking about it wasn't the problem. Everybody has thought about it. a ton of people have talked about it.

Pay as you use is one thing. and it's okay. It definately has it's place. counseling/consulting, video games, porn videos, music downloads... etc. However, too often people want to be the cheapest available option - thinking that matters. I think we all know the reality is, that it's the program with the highest payout that is going to get the bulk of the web space. (by highest payout, i mean the largest checks everymonth, not necessarily the highest per join payout).

Regardless - the one thing - I would want to hear - how it is addressed - is customer service - with respect to the time clock and disputing of charges. That's usually the issue that is brought up when people talk about pay as you go systems...

this isn't meant to be a bashing post... congrats for taking the steps...

Too many surfers are getting their kicks for free. But with all the free content out there, can you really blame them? By charging just a few cents for each picture, you can bring in big bucks from surfers who would never have signed up from a paysite. This will work greay with TGP's and any other site. This is the first time there is a way to monetize TGP's.

Charge from 1 cent for each picture or video up to $2

You can charge as little as one cent for each picture or video on your site. That may not sound a lot but once he starts clicking on your pictures you won believe how quickly those pennies add up. Each ellis just a few cents, so there no big decision he just keeps on clicking.

Giving a range of prices is good business. Have some content down at just a few cents to get him started, then work him up to slightly higher prices, say for good quality video clips. PayAsYouClick take a flat commission on each click, no minimum transaction fee.

Well.. If I was the owner of a TGP.. I would be VERY worry that my surfers go surf other TGPs free of charge.. and lose my bookmarks.. Because you know that this wont really reduce the free porn on the net.. Other TGPs remaining free will just grow.. You need to be a pretty special TGP with special content if you want to keep your now "paying" surfers...

Nice. Not sure how this model will work but it might take off. If I produced unique / exclusive content I wouldn't want to let people pay 2 cents to view a picture or video they like specifically. I'd rather charge a premium of 10 or 15 cents, otherwise I think it'd turn out to be more profitable just on the monthly subscription model.

Best of luck though. I think it will work out well for certain things. :)

Cheers,
Matt

I know. I got my credit card processing account without giving my credit card.

I had to give them all my personal info, financial statements, pay a set up fee, then I had to wait weeks for approval. Once I got the approval our technical people took another two weeks setting up the connection - but that was definitely easier than just giving my credit card :Graucho
