how many of you dropped out of school or never went?

....and do this full time successfully? I'm at a cross roards here were I've basically had it with school. I've worked for Pfizer, Inc. and I've worked for a carwash...and both suck. My ultimate goal in life is to be my own boss..so why bother getting a degree to work for more dumb fucks I hate?

Just wondering what your experiences were with this.

Remember, when you do this full-time then you'll have no CV.

Just a point.

you sound like me a few years back dude.

I have no education, or stuff like that but what I do have a reason to get up and get on with things each day.

Given the choice I would have worked on at school and learnt computer science or some shit like that.

My advice to you is go work for some one whos doing what you fancy doing yourself, learn and then you can start your business up.

as for being a webmaster fuck that 18 hour days and sometimes just a $7 buck sale, Im told things get better but Im learning that you cant control shit on the net and 90% of what you do/sell is luck. And luck dont pay the bills dude

I answered too quickly. Don't quit. I'm doing well because I've also read on a near nightly basis for going on 15 years. I'm an educated person. Education is still very important.

I wouldn't suggest dropping out. Maybe take some time off, get away from it.

It is always nice to have an education to fall back on if things go to hell

College? If you're in college, may as well stick it out.

I quit highschool 23 years ago to begin working.

I'd maybe wait a few months to get past the election uncertainty. You don't sound sure, so that means you're not ready to make the move.

Was pre-med then comp sci, both bored me to hell. Stopped college in my Sophomore year and started up a brick and motor business then branched them into the net and then into adult industry. School is not for everyone but neither is business, you have to find what you can do and live with happily everyday but also remember whatever it is you have to put some time and effort into it. Even though I did not finish college people would never know because I worked so hard at becoming educated through the years and still continue to consume knowledge on a diversity of subject matter out of my own thirst for knowledge. Education does not have to equal college degree, it just means you have learned.

It is a trade off between knowing unless you are a doctor or lawyer you really do not have job security and wanting to push to make your own business and deal with the low income in the start up cycle. Like so many things in life it is a trade off. Best of luck to you.

I got kicked out of two high schools, and upon them attempting to "find me" my third replacement school (which they're in fact obligated to do) - I dropped out, Junior year.

High school = 12 step Brainwash camp.

I'm a college drop out. But I'm still young, and I plan on getting my masters with work experience.. with everything thing in mind I'd have to say stick it out and finish school, especially if you're talking about high school.

I had a slightly different problem - From the age of 12 I was training with a pro football team and knew that was where my future lay - So I slacked badly at school.
I went into and played football till I had a serious accident when I was 20 - Financially it was no problem as I had a good pay out from my club and insurance - My club was also good enough to set me up with a chance for further education - I grabbed at this with both hands and got a degree in media English.
I was also lucky enough to carry on playing part time football till I was 38.
If it wasn't for my degree, I would have had serious problems - Those years playing semi pro football and writing for various mags set me up for life.
However, many people out there get by, many even make millions without an education. But the stats will always show the millions lacking an education are far more likely to have the cash to match their brains.
Being educated opens up many doors - Take it while you have the chance.

Hehe... I got kicked out of 2 high schools as well, went and got my GED, and started my business.

I'll never look back! Greatest thing I've ever done in my life!

The only thing I miss, is actually High School! God those were fun days for the most part.

Exactly, same here (minus the GED). Too weird. We agree on every other segment, both got kicked out of two schools, and - Are from Jersey City, NJ. Cosmic!

I dropped out of high school, got a GED, worked different jobs for 10 years, went to college at 27. My biggest regret was missing the prom and not starting college sooner, with a clear goal.
If you really want to be in THIS business, though, get a good education in photography, internet marketing, programming, graphic design, or business management... It's possible to learn these things on your own, but you'll make a lot less mistakes with a good knowledge base to draw on.

education is always good to have, people can be talented but without diploma it's really hard to get good job (even if you are smart enough and talented, most of the perspective companies are requiring diploma).

true! Porn can be all sweet and dandy, but don't forget you'll have to have something to fall back onto when you quit after 5-10 years. Unless you are diversifying allready!

Education opens doors. So don't drop out.

(I've got 2 masters degrees)

I was at the same point a few years back and I made the decision to get the degree. In order to do so, I had to keep my business afloat (a full time job) and go to school full-time. It was tough, but worth it. I felt that it was important to have some sort of feasible back up plan in place, in case of god knows what happening to my business.
