I just re-installed Medieval: Total War the other day. I'll pick up the Rome game when it ships. Should kick much ass.

Yes but 5 years later, this will blow Shogun out of the water by far, they really outdid themselves on the strategy map, full 3D simulation of Europe with every feature, mountains, rivers, so when you do battle it will be EXACTLY the same map complete with fully rendered cities, castles, etc.

I hate to say this, but World Of Warcraft is going to suck. It's a great franchise and the graphics look nice - but ultimately it's just another 'carebear' style MMORPG where the developers give players little freedom.

If you care more about game mechanics than eye-candy, this is the massively multiplayer online RPG to wait for:
