Forums and conventions...Is it me or should we look at cutting back,

I have been in the business for seven years and I have been noticing more and more shows popping up. Why do we all need to meet so often? Its not like the boards dont cover the latest updates in the industry.

Are they simply social events? That would be very very sad.

The entertainment, computer industry and all other major industries meet oncee or twice a year.....why does this industry need to meet so often?

Which shows do you think should stay and which should go?

Yeah, no need to show up to all the events. Most of the people with tons of traffic dont even go to shows.

Yeah, there are a few too many shows.

As far as them being a social event?? sad but mostly True.

I really liked the Atlanta show, we got alot acomplished there, met some people we needed to meet.

However the thing I find Funny (odd) is at the atlanta show the turn out for the seminars was not very good.....

The Atlanta show had and excellent seminar on 2257 done by one of the countries formost legal experts on the subject J.D. Obenberger. Given the number of questions people seem to have on this board about the subject I really expected the seminar to have more participants.

Who knows maybe that bottle of GrayGoose will answer peoples questions in regards to the upcoming changes.........

I agree I noticed that too ,the most important seminar of the show and the room was only 25 % full. I think its more social with all the drinking and partying I hear about . I prefer small get togethers ,like the dinner Shemp had a couple years ago and the networkings Jace and I have now.

What's the problem? If you don't like them, don't go. Easy.

the more shows the better. i have gained invaluable knowledge and have made a ton of contacts just because of shows and gatherings. even though this business is conducted over the net, theres still a good feeling when you meet someone in person and you can better judge what kind of a businessman they are

Phoenix was my first show.... I accoplished everything I needed to, now I feel like I'm set for a long time with what I need to be set for. Then again I'm an SE guy, and some people think we need less contacts than other people...

So will I still go to Vegas? Maybe ;)

Personally, I don't think all these shows are that important.
But without them, people like Sleazy would have no social life - so I guess we need shows
