Any tips on reducing pic file size without losing quality?

Building some new gallery templates, I'm not a designer its just some templates to use myself. Some of the graphics I am using are a bit bigger in size than I would like. I would like to reduce the file size while maintaining quality..... Anyone know how I could do this?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you're using photoshop go to file, save for the web and play around with the different files types and the quality amounts.

If you don't have photoshop than you can use a program like Jpeg Imager to optimize your images
