New USC 2257 regs

What influence do they have on non-US webmasters that submit galleries with (US) sponsor content and that are hosted at (US) servers by the sponsor? >> I.e., the submitter doesn't really own anything.

bluff the USA can't pass a law for and on behalf of other countries. If you live outside of the USA then they can't do a thing to you.
My understanding of the new requirements in relation to your question are....
Lets say they find your site and see it's registered to Mr Bluff in Holland but it's hosted in New York. According to the proposed regulation your host is not responsable for what you have on your site so I don't think they can tell your host to shut it down.

(4) Producer does not include persons whose activities relating to the visual depiction of actual sexually explicit
conduct are limited to the following:
(iv) A provider of Web-hosting services who does not manage the content of the computer site or service; or

If they do tell them to shut down your site then they will kill the hosting business in the USA at the same time. For those of us outside of the USA it's very simple to host anywhere we wish. My

Thanks for these informations. More specifically, how will this affect people pushing stuff that is only owned by sponsors. I mean: my galleries contain sponsor content, and are hosted on sponsored servers. I have no contracts, so in fact one could say I'm not publishing anything at all?

I read the whole damn thing too and thought the only way they could get us is through hosting...but along came the part you quoted and thought "woohoo". Glad to see someone got out of that the same I did.

So Canadians that are hosted in the US are safe?

Should I get Canadian hosting? (I don't really want to LOL)
