IE cuz I'm used to it :2 cents:
I also have Netscape, Opera and Firefox to check pages in all 4 browsers in Dreamweaver

project_naughty 07-16-2004 06:42 PM

If I want speed I go for IE. If I feel l33t I use Firefox.

That's why I made the switch and that's why many others have as well. As far as 98%-99% using IE, that number is pretty skewed. I'd say it's somewhere in the 80's or even slightly lower.

People who NEED a clean computer generally tend to lean towards a safer browser like Firefox Opera, etc.

yes you are right i have not heard from them here is why
Golden rule of internet surfing always say no to any pop up.

rule #2 spend some money on lavasoft adaware. it works great EXORCISING the devil from your computer

rule #3 if you are a webmaster learn not to fall on other peoples traps.

i have never been hit by a virus had a computer hacked or hijacked or anything.

:)

I like IE. Its fast, I like its feel and function.

Combined with google toolbar its a pretty good combo. I only had one major spyware incident in the last couple years and fixed it quick.

#1. I update Windows or search for updates DAILY. (as you have numbered in your following thread)

#2. I say no to all popups. Hence why I installed the google toolbar which caught ALL for a while until people found ways around them.

#3. I have Adaware, Hijack this and Spybot Search and Destroy. Any other suggestions?? Oh ya... I also have Norton running 24-7.

#4. I don't "fall" for traps. Sometimes people decide to take once reputable sites and fuck with them for a quick buck. Also, sometimes it's possible to misspell a domain and get slammed by popups, autoinstalls, viruses, etc.

#5. Good for you. Run some other spyware programd on top of Ad Aware. You just may find a few surprises. If not, consideryourself in the 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000001% of all internet users who can say the same thing.

Mozilla Firefox is a delightful browser. By FAR my preferred choice.

Project-Shadow 07-16-2004 07:26 PM

IE has the speed, and 'all' internet pages are built for I.E...
I was forced to use mozilla/konqueror for the past week, and I'm glad to get rid of it, it was slow as shit and it pissed me the fuck off... I'm willing to get viruses. spyware, malware, whatever... just don't make me use mozilla again

unconnected 07-17-2004 10:10 AM

Using IE to surf the internet is like poking a bunch of holes into your condoms and having sex with the dirtiest whores on the planet

Lane 07-17-2004 10:37 AM

IE runs faster for me, and I got used to the way it scrolls... I don;t like the way other browsers scroll

dunefield 07-17-2004 11:08 AM

i'm not a fan of firefox... ie6 seems to be much faster loading up pages as well...

Serge Litehead 07-17-2004 11:32 AM

i'm too lazy to download new browsers, IE works just fine for me
