"will likely sentence Stewart to 10-16 months in prison, as federal guidelines suggest."

Too much for the crime. But if I was her counsel I might have seen the uselessness of so many appeals and just tell her to get it over with.

A couple of the real big corporate criminals have already walked on mistrials.. Ken Lay probably will walk too.

Considering she was charged with lying about a crime they decided not to charge her with and had to get a governmnet witness to lie to get a conviction I'd say 1 day in jail is too much.

For those excited about what's happening to Martha Stewart you have to consider we're talking more than Martha Stewart, we're talking a corporation. Hundreds of jobs have/ will be lost, from production staff of the TV show to manufacturers of the many products.

Since this has already cost her a huge portion of her worth I'd say she's more than paid for any lie she may have told about a crime she was never charged with and she should get nothing more than probation. Had she actually been charged with and found guilty of insider trading I would still say she's paid enough and would still only deserve probation with the addition of the possibility of banishment from stock trading.

Oh, and not that it makes any difference legally, but Martha's "crime" did not hurt anybody. In fact, her "victim" profited pretty well. The InClone stocks she sold are worth over $100,000 more today than the day she sold them.

Talk about paycut in salary:

Daily life behind bars, even in a minimum security facility, is highly structured and full of reminders that freedom is a lost privilege. Stewart will wear prison-issue khaki garb, bathe in communal showers and work for a maximum of 40 cents an hour.

That's a far cry from the $673 an hour she earned last year as CEO of Martha Stewart Living, assuming a 40-hour workweek and her $1.4 million salary and bonus.

I don't think she should have gotten any time, because that Ink expert for the Gov. lied, think it was a FBI agent.

Was thinking it would be shorter than this.

Next big case is Kobe in August, or is it Scott Peterson?

Yeah, Scott will be out soon playing golf looking for the real killers, while Martha still has her life on hold fighting a rediculous case.

He and OJ are on a mission together. Gotta love that they are working for the good of the community and helping solve these crimes.
