Considering she was charged with lying about a crime they decided not to charge her with and had to get a governmnet witness to lie to get a conviction I'd say 1 day in jail is too much.
For those excited about what's happening to Martha Stewart you have to consider we're talking more than Martha Stewart, we're talking a corporation. Hundreds of jobs have/ will be lost, from production staff of the TV show to manufacturers of the many products.
Since this has already cost her a
huge portion of her worth I'd say she's
more than paid for any lie she may have told about a crime she was never charged with and she should get nothing more than probation. Had she actually been charged with and found guilty of insider trading I would still say she's paid enough and would still only deserve probation with the addition of the possibility of banishment from stock trading.
