I've got it all on the HDD.

The base folder, then within that I have "sponsors", "content", "webspace", "reading", "galleries", "free sites", "misc". Then say within "sponsors", I'd have "a4", "big penis", "sex movie house", "pussy payments", "angel green" etc. Then inside "angel green", for example, I'd have "information", which would contain all correspondance link codes and t&c, and "banners" which would contain promo materials. Then within "misc" I have "bbs", which contains my bbs passwords, "inspiration" which contains things to pluck me up when I feel like giving up (pics of private jets, large houses, expensive cars, etc). I also store all linking info and account info in a webmail account. I do back ups once per week on a Friday night on two seperate CDs. |

I print all the urls, usernames & passwords then stick them in a 3-ring binder. I also write them in a notebook plus make a text file & put them on floppies.

I now save all my sites in the exact same directory structure that they appear on the server. Because my server got hacked once and the backups were destroyed. It wasn't fun. My advice, is keep it in the same place as it shows on the server, so if it goes down. Just drag one folder over on the ftp. You sound like the hubby Pete. He has a online copy on a system with a back of it and then the same sets on our server. Sheesh 4 sets, but then our tech also has two sets as well. So when China nukes us we will be ready!

I create a folder on my server and upload all the banners there. then I create a banner farm for each niche (panty.html, foot.html, teen.html, etc. ) with all my linking codes already in place. Then print it out every so often so I remember what the banners look like. When creating a new page, I just cut and paste the code on the page. I don't have to upload anymore banners since they are already on my server. (htaccess protect your images).

		 For passwords and user names:

Even though I HATE apps that take up my precious RAM (I use Win98), I tried out gator(.com) and it's been permanent feature in my systray for 9 months+ (Which means I think it's fantastic). I used to forget passwords sometimes. Not any more. As far as site, I keep exact copies of everything (i.e. directory structure) including the apache config files. For emails, I can't go past calypso email as my favorite. Some people find it annoying that *everything* in calypso is kept in a single file, but it makes it easy when I travel; just copy a single file over to my laptop, and there's all my 10,000+ emails! |

Not quite sure what you mean. MS Access came with Microsoft Office 2000 the database is just a simple set of tables and forms created using the Access wizards. I have simply made a relational DB for all the webmaster info and included a simple search to look in all of the tables. I need this cos I forget stuff real easy. |

I know what Access is, and I tried to make that kind of database but I cant make (dont really know Access that well). And since you already have one wroking I thought thats there is no idea to put more time in learning access, ok? ------------------ ------------------------ Check it out BabeFever ------------------------ |

You can have my DB layout with pleasure but I am not sure it will be of much use as its written to fit my personal needs. I will have to save off a copy and remove the records. I don't know too much about access either, the way I started was by adapting the example DB to see how it all works and just followed the wizards. You can make a DB in under 1 minute using the wizard tools. |

Geez people, haven't any of you heard of Post-It notes. You just write everything on Post-It's and stick them to your monitor, when you run out of space, stick the new ones on top. Then when you need to find something you just sift through them for a half hour, or so.

I use that same technique, but then I would started to stack post it notes. After a while the stack would get to heavy a would start to peel off my monitor. I've switched to just writing notes right on the monitors edge with a sharpie. rubbing alcohol is my eraser. ![]() ------------------ [email protected] LeeannOnline.com ICQ # 114683191 |
