Make your surfers feel safe,they dont like popup hell any more than you do,this page http://tgp.smutserver.com/surfer.html

yes, what really aggreviates the surfer is the loss of control when the pop-up windows cover the whole screen or starts flooding.
A few of my sites have one exit pop-up, but it covers only 1/4 of the screen and doesn't spawn any new windos on close. This can be tolerated I think. |

To get more mileage out of a popup, I do this:
If someone clicks a link in the (small) exit console, a new large normal window opens with the site linked. Then, as the surfer is checking out that site, I load a new image (and links) in the already existing popup, so the surfer (when he closes the large window) gets to see a new advert in the same small popup window. You can (of course) keep loading new ads infinitely, but the thing is that teh surfer won't see it unless he actually clicks in the first popup. |
