IS there any hope left for gallerys on freehosts

I work badly with payhosts and about 50% of the total revenue ends up going to pay for the hosting. But with payhosts its easier to get listed, and getting 75-100K daily is simple. About a year ago with freehosts that was possible. A few months ago a lot of TGPs stopped listing freehosts (snakes, JJJ, al4a) is there anyone out there who still makes a bundle on freehosts

I started on free hosts. I was getting 100K hits a day or more never less. I made shit. After a few months I had enough money to buy a domain name. That was it. I just don't waste my time with them much anymore. They are good for promoting a site not making money.

I still have a couple of free hosted sites, but almost all my sign-ups happen on my paid ones. I use the former mainly to feed the latter with traffic.

Yes, it's getting increasingly harder to get free hosted sites listed, and I think it's worth a couple of bucks to be spared from the trouble and all the frustrations that follow with free hosting.

I never ever used freehosts, and don't see the reason why, with some careful advertising and the right hosting provider the costs are grossly outweighed by the profits if I compare what I make in comparison with people that use freehosts, basically using freehosts is throwing money away, they can be handy for some things, esp copyright issue at times, but not for galleryposting and the likes.

It is people who think like this that are ruining the industry. You say that you use free hosts to post your STOLEN illegal content!! So when your account gets deleted by your free host because you are a cheater, then the tgp's that have you listed, now have a 404 page listed on their sites. This is a big part of the reason why tgp's stop listing Free Hosted Galleries...

Lightning, honestly. If someone can afford content, then can't they afford hosting as well? Or am I wrong?

Pete - there's a big difference between the one off price of content and having to shell out for a set-up fee, annual fee and 50gigs of bandwidth every month. If I actually start to make money I will *consider* getting adult hosting - but not until i am sure the money is regular

Well if you use a sponsor's free content, I can see the advantage of using free hosting.

But if you might not make steady money, because there are a whole bunch of sales being lost to the free host banners.

Annual fee? I wouldn't pay for a host with an annual fee. And you should be able to find one without a set up fee.

But you are correct, content can be a 1 time thing and bandwidth is a monthly thing.

I just think if someone is starting out, many aren't even willing to risk the amount you paid on content. I don't think that's good. I just think that's what's happening.

Of course Lightning is saying that's bad for free hosts and I agree.

But I just think he might not realize the percentage of people with free sites that have non licencend content.

What I am saying is that hosting on a free host or paid, there is no excuse for using Stolen content period. If you dont use licensed content then your cheating period...
Hiding yourself on a free host is a pretty shitty thing to do to your host. This is not good for the industry as a whole. Cheating either a sponsor, a host, a content provider or anyone is a shitty thing to do... If you cant make any money in this biz honestly, without being a cheater, then its time for you to get out...
