You are an asset to this planet, I'm sure...please don't bother responding, because I won't be here to counter...

And yes, the inter-exchange of thoughts and ideas (which we undoubtedly were doing) constitute a debate

LOL, yeah...ok!

I am slightly older then 17. Also, my career is not in finance, but, as I previously stated I was educated in both psychology and finance...I am neither a psychologist, nor do I work in any financial field...I merely stated that I studied these things in University

I haven't read most of this thread but it seems that whenever someone brings up the facts about Isreal being propped up by the U.S. it seems that the Isreally supporters get into complete denial and think that Israel is Superior to everyone else.

Also; why does the U.S. give the largest amount of foreign aid to Isreal? Is it because they felt bad after WW2 so they took some Arab land and gave it to the Jewish people?

I also never blamed anyone for starting the mud-slinging...all I said was that I enjoyed the discussion untill it turned ugly....the implication here is that I no longer enjoyed it once it tuned hostile...

Its ok, you can think that you 'won'. Isn't it funny how you think that I come here and make up my facts about my education to make myself better then I really am; and that you are very concerned with 'winning' and make references to low-count posts, the fact that people are 'newbies', and the fact that you call people kids.

Taken together, it seems to me that going onto an anyonmous chatboard and acting big is how your ego gets stroked...

I, for one, have not denied that Israel receives a LOT of aid from the US

When the land was partitioned by the UN, the Palis were given most of the best arable land (with those olive groves) whilst the Jews got the Negev desert, which they then turned into an oasis.
You might want to give it a rest with the disinformation that you are mixing in with the facts.

Although the Negev (which is still largely a desert, despite David Ben Gurion's dreams for it) was part of the territory to be included in the Jewish state, so was most of the fertile coastal plain as well as eastern Gallilee. One of the objections the Arabs had to the partition was that the majority of the best land would be in the Jewish state.

Another objection was that the Jews, who were only one-third of the population at the time, were being given 55% of the country. The partition would also have meant 325,000 Arabs becoming second-class citizens in the new Jewish state (or leaving their homes).

The greatest concern however was that the formation of a Jewish state was just a first step. It isn't hard to understand why. In 1938 David Ben-Gurion had declared: "after we become a strong force, as a result of the creation of a state, we shall abolish partition and expand into the whole of Palestine". In 1948 Menachem Begin said, "The partition of the Homeland is illegal. It will never be recognized. The signature of institutions and individuals of the partition agreement is invalid. It will not bind the Jewish people. Jerusalem was and will forever be our capital. Eretz Israel (the land of Israel) will be restored to the people of Israel, All of it. And forever". And nothing has changed: during the 1980's the present prime minister, Arik Sharon, frequently spoke of expelling all Arabs from "Greater Israel".

The crime of the region's arabs was not that they had unreasonable demands or unfounded fears. Only that they lost. The Palestinian arabs and the surrounding countries protested the "betrayal" of the UN partition plan, arguing that it was only because the British (who controlled Palestine after WW2) allowed Jewish settlement, that the issue was on the UN agenda at all. The reality is that arabs - who had nothing whatever to do with the plight of the Jews - were made to pick up the tab for the collective guilty conscience of the Allies about how the Jews had been treated during the war, as well as providing a solution as to what to do with all the displaced Jews afterward, many of whom couldn't or wouldn't return home.

Fighting broke out almost immediately after the partition plan was announced and it was never implemented. In May 1948 the British finally left, and by June Jewish forces were in control of much of the territory originally envisioned for the arab state. When the fighting ended in 1949, the Jewish state occupied close to 80% of the country. The rest was put variously under the control of Jordan and Egypt.

Estimates vary, but around 750,000 arabs were dispossessed between 1948 and 1949. In 1967 almost 200,000 more became refugees and a further 100,000 were uprooted for the second time. Today more than 6 million Palestinians (three-quarters of their total number) are refugees, about one-quarter are living in camps in Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. Close to three million, some in camps, are in the West Bank and Gaza, which have been under military occupation for almost 40 years.

Nor does it hurt to remember that for all these years the Israelis have maintained a kill ratio of 3+ Palestinians for every Israeli who dies. It may not come across that way, because one survey of CNN for example, found that in a typical month, while reporting almost three-quarters of all Israeli deaths, less than 20% of Palestinian deaths are reported. Those are nevertheless the statistics.
