- ActiveX controls: the modal dialog will no longer popup automatically. Users must specifically click on the pageholder to install controls
- Downloadable Files: The file download ability can only be initiated by a user click. Pages that say "your download will begin in 10 seconds" and have an ad before launching the file will now fail.
- Popup Windows: These may now only be initiated by a user action, not automatically, and only one popup will be created based on that user action... so a popup cannot spawn a popup, even if the original was spawned by a click.
- MS Java Virtual Machine: This is no longer distributed.
- Browser Windows Alterations: You can no longer do a fullscreen window, it will only launch a maximized window. You can no longer move the statusbar, titlebar or toolbar off of the visible screen.

Nah, I really don't think that signups overall will decrease just because we can't launch pop up hells or auto install active x shit on people's machines.
I think the surfers overall will still spend the same amount of money, but WHO gets that money will change a bit.

Yup, most people don't even know what a popop blocker is. Exit sales are going to drop, that's for sure.

Most of the used explore are never updated. Most of the surfers use the window they have now and will not change in a long time.
So it will take some time before the popup killer will take effect.

But nomatter what a popup killer will allways have a hole, where the right java code will be able to make a popup.

Maybe reduced payouts from PPS sponsors since they cant load popups, but there will probably be ways to go around that.

A good thing is that more surfers will click on sponsor links because they know they wont get stuck in a popup-hell.

Short term maybe less spawned exit sales.

Long term less fear from surfers to surf at ease and click links.

More real marketing, return to naturally "sticky" sites, more steady income.

I think you are right about that. A large number of people buy computers and don't know a damn thing about it. They don't update anything, don't even know they should.
