No. The fact that I don't tithe doesn't make me as bad as a conservative. I vote for the party that makes such donations a little less necessary.

However, in your honor, I will set aside a little for a local charity each month. You are correct, it's something I should have been doing anyway.

The REAL point here, and one that has been pointed out to you now by numerous posters in this thread, is that there is no relationship whatsoever between someone's political views and their compassion for others. There are many liberals AND conservatives who care deeply about suffering in the world and who speak with their wallets. On the flip side, there are liberals AND conservatives who are only out for themselves. To politicize this thread, like you have, is really disgraceful.

You are buying into the myth, dude. Yes, SOME conservatives expouse the views you mention above, but NOT ALL OF THEM do. I HATE Rush Limbaugh and I am FOR socialized medicine. You can't paint everyone with the same brush. People are complex and have vastly differing views. What conservativism means to me might be different than what it means to someone else. It isn't that black and white, unfortunately.
