recommend a UPS / life on a mountain
Life is good on the mountain... fresh air, fresh water, wildlife, privacy, peace and quiet, trees, friendly neighbors....
but every fucking time it rains/thunder/lightning I lose fucking power many times. usually I just power everything down and wait (just got done doing that) as soon as it starts.. but sometimes I forget to or just don't notice the weather... and boom, even with frequent saves, I always lose something... So... can anyone recommend a UPS that'll give me a good 2-5 minutes to save and shut down? needs to handle PC/2 LCD's/3 external drives. |

APC is one of the best. 500VA would be enough. If the power goes down for max. half an hour, consider buying a bigger one so you can just work uninterrupted.

I have a APC 750XL Smart UPS with a second battery that is hot-swapable. It can give me 5 hours or more on just the main battery.
