Email bounced - relaying not allowed - WTF IS THIS ?

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

*****@******.net

Technical details of failure:
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 9): 550 5.7.1 Relaying not allowed: ******@*******.net

Could anyone explain it to me?

The ISP's and carriers are royally fucking up the e-mail networks with all these new restrictions they're putting on the outbound e-mail servers.

it means no relaying!

maybe the MX for the domain thinks its not the MX and thinks you or your MX is trying to relay thru it so its an error their end

Yeah, to many email servers are being hacked and used as spam machines. It's very easy to use someone else's servers to bounce spam out of and therefore, never get caught. Or better yet, placing the blame somewhere else. This is why many ISP's or hosting companies get black listed in places without ever knowing it.

So a lot of companies now are not allowing relaying at all, and many other common functions.

Which basically means, sending your emails is becoming much less easy to do.
