HAHA It sucks to live in California!
Man, I just saw on the news that there are blackouts in California! People are getting trapped in elevators.

Yeah, but if the TERMINATOR becomes governor, he'll go kick ass in Washington and divert all the electricity from every Starbucks in Seattle to LA.

I hadn't listened to the news all day, so I didn't know rolling blackouts were in effect.
I was relaxing, watching a movie (rated G) with the kids at 6:30pm, when the power went out. It was out for about 1 hour 15 minutes. Still, the weather here is in the 70's and I wouldn't trade that for the 30 degree weather in the Midwest or Northeast. ![]() |

Are You Kidding?!
You're writing from Iowa and think living in California sucks? LOL I don't mean to insult, but I will forever put up with an occasional blackout (shit I already put up with monster traffic, crime that you couldn't even possibly comprehend, , urban living, etc.) just so I can live in this modern day paradise. Granted it's not Koh Samuii or Aruba but, do you have any idea what it is like to step out of your door on December whatever and have bright sunshine, 80 degrees and look to your left and see a beautiful ocean while you feel a lovely sea breeze? In Southern California, we have consistently the best weather in the world. You would be surprised what that can do to your quality of life. I AM NEVER COLD! If I get chilly, it means it's 60 degrees outside. At night. In the middle of a storm. People Bitch TOO much. We have it so good. And let's not even get into WHY we really have a power crisis. This is going to be one huge scandal when all is said and done. My opinion....Punishment for voting to De-Regulate The Power Companies. ![]() |

April, you are so right on the scandal thing. The shit has not yet hit the fan. Gotta love it here anyway. I haven't had a any outages yet for some reason. Probably today or tomorrow. I'm taking a flashlight to my windowless rehearsal studio tonight just in case.

I'm moving to Venice, CA in 4 days... my friends that want me to stay in Florida try to scare me with the blackout shit -- but really I could care less if the power went out... my new apartment by the ocean doesn't even have an air conditioner because you don't need one... and I can use my laptop and still connect to the internet if the power goes out ;) My electric bills are going to be much lower -- with the savings I'm going to pay that fucking California income tax...! ;)
But I don't know what the big deal is about blackouts -- at least where I've lived in Florida there are always blackouts during big thunder storms and also in the winter months when everyone has their heater on... and also on the really hot days when everyone has their air conditioner on. ------------------ -- thefly.net |

I just moved out of Ca right before all that started happening...LOL.
Ca is beautiful, but too expensive for me right now, maybe another day. At least in Vegas I don't think the casinos would ever let this town run out of power LOL. ![]() ------------------ ~Every time I call myself Webmistress, I feel I should be in spike heels with a whip~ Greatest ADULT WEB HOSTING on The NET ! snow- you crazy fool. i love new orleans
![]() im on the other side of the us...south carolina charleston is pretty expensive but its a nice area. kinda like a clean new orleans. i would love to have some mountains around here though. takes me about 4 hours to get to the smokies. i used to mountain bike professionally before i got hit by a car going going about 30mph. somehow i bounced off the hood and landed on my feet. i had the shakes for about a week though. and to those idiots that dont look out for bikers, the guy is still in jail for wreckless driving, hit and run and leaving the scene of the crime. he got 3 years... ![]() |
