Do you believe in...?
Ghosts, Religion, the supernatural, UFO's, or aliens?
Are you superstitious? I feel that if you believe in one of the above, you should believe in all of them. I hope that there is more to our universe than just us. I would like to believe in little green men. But I'm too skeptical. I would personally need to see proof first. On the same note, I don't think there is a God. I believe that the bible was written to keep people in line. I also believe that we can all get along without religion. My solution: Just be nice to each other. |

No, I don't believe in ghosts, religion or the supernatural. But, why do you have to believe in all of them? I don't see the connection between the first 3 and the last 2. I do think that there are other lifeforms somewhere out there in our universe and in other universes. It just seems highly unlikely given the extraordinary amount of space that we are the only ones. I'm sure the math buffs on this board would agree that the odds are against us being alone.

We are all ghosts in the fabric of time & each of us are aliens on this speck of a planet.
You don't need to believe in everything since everything is not connected. After all, their are religions that believe in ghosts but if you believe in aliens & UFOs then you are an outcast. Myself, I believe in ghosts & follow the Celtic Path (meaning I don't believe in one-true God). As far as aliens & UFOs, I'm convinced that they are time travelers trying to warn us & prepare us for the future. ------------------ Moongem Erotica Moongem Fiction |

I don't believe in religion but I do the rest. As someone has said, with as big as the universe it is hard to believe that we are the only ones with life and / or that we are the most advanced. Ghosts, yep. But religion no!! If you believe in religion, which one? And why is your's the correct one? There are hundreds, thousands of religions can they all be right? Then why do they all insist that they are the TRUE religion.
But I do believe in a God, a higher being. |

April, the connection, that I see is, that both seem highly unlikely of being true. Have you ever seen a UFO? Have you ever seen Jesus? No. But people believe in them just the same.
Sure there are lot's of things I've never seen that I believe to be true. But none as controversial as a religion. There are people all over the nation that swear that the Government is hiding ufo info. Some claim they have seen them, just like different people claim they've seen the Virgin Mary. I refuse to believe in either until I see them with my own eyes. The reason I connect the two (ufo's and religion) is because I believe they both have never been proven, but people put a lot of faith in each. Like I said, I would love it if one day a ufo landed and proved once and for all that they exist. I doubt that will ever happen, just like I doubt the second coming of Christ. (not that I believe there was a 'first coming') The reason I saw that if you believe in one you should believe in them all is because, if you're willing to belive that there is a God, you are accepting that there is something that you can't quite comprehend. If you're willing to believe in things you can't prove, then why not believe in everything. Where do you draw the line on beliefs? Hey, who's to say that God is not an alien? He impregnated a girl without deflowering her. His son could walk on water. His son turned a loaf of bread into enough bread for all. His son was killed then was brought back to life. The wise men followed a bright light, or was it a UFO? Can you prove any of this otherwise? SO who is to say it's not true. Either way, I don't believe in any of it. |

Religion - Yes I believe that there are religions. Though I don't subscribe to one specific dogma.
Ghosts and the Supernatural (i'm assuming thing includes the occult too)- No. But, I'll answer differently after spending a few hours read H.P. Lovecraft stories (last night = no sleep) UFOs- Sure. There is shit flying around in space that we can't quite identify. Aliens- Yes, but they could exist in forms that we comprehend. Alive though not by our definition. RE: the topic "...magic in a young girl's heart" That topic got that stupid damn song stuck in my head. I hope you're happy now. "...magic and I hope you do. You'll always have a friend wearing big red shoes" <-- This fucking commercial pissed me off when it was on. Now this topic brought it back into my conciousness. I'm not pleased.... does anyone else know of what I speak or am I just insane? |

I believe in them all. Not one specific religion really, more like all of them and none of them. They are basically all the same basis, just like Redshoe said, "Be nice to each other". I could go on for a long time on a discussion like this, but yes I certainly have a personal religion. think of praying to yourself as a means of self motivation rather than asking the help of a higher power.
Aliens - I hope so. It'd be awful lonely here otherwise. Occult, ghosts, etc. - absolutely. Seen and read too many documented cases not to. |

Without getting into an argument, I think the most important thing for anyone and everyone to have is an open mind.
You should be open to the fact that what you believe to be true may not be, and should always consider new evidence or facts that challenge your beliefs. That being said, blind faith is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I wouldn't mind having discussions with religious people if 99.99% of them weren't so closed minded. You know what it's like? Here's an analogy: Back it day when segas and nintendo came out, some people bought sega, some bought nintendo. The nintendo owners believed that nintendo was the best, and the sega owners thought sega was the best. All of these people were closed minded. Now, take someone who looked at both models, and then chose nintendo (because of it's large game collection) or maybe chose sega (because of it's technical superiority), now that person has an open mind. That's someone who I like to discuss things with. Not the closed minded fools that believe what they have, or what their parents told them, to be what's right and nothing else, and everything else who doesn't agree is wrong. Most people who are not religious looked at the facts, and 'picked a side'. Most people who are religious did not 'pick a side' - they believe in it because their parents told them. They haven't analyzed a fucking thing... those poor people. Where would we be today if no one could think for themselves. I have nothing against religion - give me someone who actually has thought about what they've said, and is not speaking from being brainwashed (like some kid who believes in santa claus), then I would enjoy the conversation. Be open minded. ------------------ Juge - webmaster of Juge's Bikini and Thong Page http://www.jugesbikini.com/ [This message has been edited by Juge (edited 03-20-2001).] |

I should say one thing - I do not believe 100% that there is no higher being - I never meant to imply this. Gotta be open minded to everything...

I saw my dead Great Grandmother once while in the middle of foreplay on my living room floor.
(talk about killin the mood! LOL)And one night (this was the most fucked up night) , I was in my bedroom changing clothes and I heard this deep-voice saying my name then I felt a hand on my back (i thought it was my man playing around), and I turned around and no one was there. I heard a loud noise and then I felt something pushing on my chest and I kinda fell on my bed, but not hard. So those were my experiences! LOL ![]() [This message has been edited by Babagirls (edited 03-19-2001).] |

Same to you Juge. I agree with you on this "...Most people who are religious did not 'pick a side' - they believe in it because their parents told them..."
But, the nintendo, Sega discussion... let's not go there! I'm a playstation man all the way. First Nintendo, (back when it came out, and super Mario Bros. was the only game). Then on to Playstation. Mostly for it's game selection. I like discussing why I choose not to believe in a God, or supernatural beings, or anything, but don't get me started on video game systems or computer systems. I get mad when I find out that someone has purchased a MAC. Damn that pisses me off, that someone would just throw money away like that. If you're going to throw your money away on a mac, you might as well just give me your money. I can do just about as many tasks, and I'm just as annoying. Sorry, I don't come in fancy colors, just pearl ![]() I like how when the Imac first came out, how easy it was to get onto the internet. "You just by this neat monitor, mouse, and keyboard, and that's all. Only two cables to deal with, not like the cable nightmare with PC. Just plug it in and go. Oh, by the way you won't be able to save anything to disk, or print anything out. You will need to buy this oversized clunky tower for saving to disk, and a printer. Uh, no it's not compatible with your current printer, you will need a new one. And of course cables that connect everything together." Hey, it's 2001, check out this new line of iMac's. They're not much of an improvement, but they have really cool colors, some are even clear, or have a 60's tye dye pattern on them. Stay tuned for our next big rip off: THE SUPER CUBE!! It's a 4" cube that doesn't do a damn thing, just like the bigger clunkier 8" version. I think I had an orgasm when I watched Apple's stock tank 26 points over night in late September last year. I was praying to a God (choose one) that their company would collapse. |

THIS IS JUST MY OPINION...not to be takin` seriously at all...
![]() One day a bunch of pretty smart people if you ask me, had sat around eating food & drinking wine discussing many things. One being the with the realization that the vast majority of the average folk who were confused with the question.."How did we get here"......These people wrote a book in which everything could intertwine and relate to in some area of the book or another & in one way or another. This was something to fall back onto when confused or feeling lost with ones self and many other things. I've discussed this very briefly with friends & we agree that religion was a pretty genius way of keeping people in check and far from being lost & or the feeling of being very alone. Pretty cool I think...simple & just my opinion... |

I believe in a higher power. I believe all religions have truth in them.
I believe their are other beings in space. I'm not sure about ghosts and such though, I mean what if my dead ancestors were watching me have sex or something. I think I just don't want to believe that. |

Hey RedShoe,
I won't get into the computer discussion. I agree with everything you said, anyway, so there's nothing to talk about. But if I wanted to discuss it - you'd be the person I'd like to talk with. Why? Because you said "Then on to Playstation. Mostly for it's game selection." - you actually have a reason you chose one side. You aren't just defending to the death your belief in the playstation because your parents owned one, but you actually thought about it, and chose to buy one on facts. What a concept!! ![]() ------------------ Juge - webmaster of Juge's Bikini and Thong Page http://www.jugesbikini.com/ |

RedShoe,
I totally got the "we've never seen any of them" connection. What I meant was that I believe that religion, spirits, ghosts, supernatural phenomenons have been brought about for a reason...to be a human crutch.... emotionally. All of those have been fabricated by the human mind to help explain, understand, and deal with human grief, ignorance, what have you. I, believe, that "Aliens" may very well be based in science. I think that there is a high probability of other life forms given the fact that our universe is soooooo huge and there are, possibly, millions of other universes. I'm just playing the odds. I have never seen any of the above personally. Just my humble opinion. ![]() |
