Just got this email, the guy used post here as Ozzie and he owned the Oz Web Productions board :

"Hi my name is Brian i am ozzies brother, we finally figured out his passcodes to get into this email and other things, im sorry sir, but on June 24th ozzie was killed outside of atlanta in a car accident and i have no way to comply with your wishes. This has been very stressful on all our family and once again we are sorry, however we have no way of knowing the process or ability to begin the process to help you. I have to return to work so i will be unable to contact you further. Brian Osborne"

I find the email very strange. Not sure why, with the family in crisis they would be so interested in figuring out passwords to answer his email. I also do not understand why the person going back to work means he can never make contact again.

If this is true, it is indeed a sad event. If it isn't true, won't be the first time this has happened nor the last.

I have just added him to ICQ now and will see if he knows anything.

Also trying to get hold of Dave (Synapse) from anywebcam.com as I think he knew Ozzie pretty well, Ozzie used him as a reference for the deal we did.

I feel fucking awful that I've got to do all this but like some others have said the email just don't read well

Well, theoretically, if he either owes you money or he didn't finish a job - then the executors of his estate have to pay you out. Hope you have a contract & proof that it's not done / or that your work was done, taken & not paid.

Yeah just because he died doesnt change the fact that he owes you money and his estate can pay that money to you if you claim it in time. If he is really dead there will be no problem showing death certificate and find out who is handling his estate. Its a business just like any other.

Yea I find that email and timing very close and suspicious, it just so happens that less then 3 weeks ago he "sold" his website to "Aleister 639" could this be his way out? like does anyone actually know this guy? If he owed me money I wouldnt just assume that this person that emailed you saying he is dead is the real deal. A death certificate is the only way you can be sure.

I have no stake in it other than it would be nice to know as I think he had a pretty good rep.

For the record I bought the Ozweb Productions board from Ozzie a month or so ago. I do not have any knowledge of whether this information about Ozzie is true or not. I have tried several times to contact him using the numbers I have for him with no luck.

Both 770 and 678 are valid Atlanta exchanges. It doesnt change the fact that this is a scam... I've seen this here before....
