Or will we reach a point that we can no longer tolerate/accept those that are Muslim/Islamic?

Frankly, I'm worried about how the average American is beginning to view Muslims. We watch the "war" on tv and see the warnings of captives about to be be-headed and then can even see the be-headings. Obviously, most civilized people are sickened by what they see. But are we losing sight of the fact that these are a very small % of Muslims, and not representative of Muslim people on the whole?

I'd like to point out that it's impossible to be racist towards Muslims, as Islam is an ideology and it's impossible to be racist towards an ideology. A Muslim can be of any colour and from any country.

You can be anti-Islam in the same way that you can be anti-Nazi.
Islam and Nazism, btw, are very similar ideologies and this is why there were Muslim divisions in the SS and why the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem (Yassir Arafat's uncle) spent the war in Berlin studying Hitler's "Final Solution to the Jewish Question".
The Islamic world supported Hitler because they wanted him to purge them of their own Jewish populations after their "inevitable" victory over the Allies.

Btw, if you are not yet "anti-Islam" then I suggest you pick up a copy of the Qu'ran and Haddiths (biography of Muhammad) and check out what Islam has instore for anyone who does not wish to become one of them.
If you don't have time for that then here's it in a nutshell:
1. Christians and Jews must pay a debilitating tax called Jizya (typically 75-125% of income) which is intended to deprive them of all their wealth until they just give up and become Muslim.
2. Atheists, Hindus, Pagans and all other religions must be wiped-out. Yes, that means that their followers must all be killed (80-120 million were killed during the Islamic conquest of India alone).
3. Men captured in Jihad are typically killed by beheading. Women are kept as sex slaves and children are enslaved then made to be Muslim.
4. If they became powerful in the US there would be no porn industry on penalty of death (and you guys think Bush is harsh).
5. There will be no free speech on pain of death.
6. You must pray 5 times daily on pain of death.
7. You must not have any friends who are not Muslims.
8. You must become circumcised if you are male and if you are a female them you can be infibulated (cutting off the entire labia and clitoris before puberty). Muhammad was asked about female circumcision and gave it is blessing.
9. If you are female then you cannot deny your husband sex. If you refuse he is allowed to beat you. You have no choice in that.
10. If you are female then you must have no male friends and you must obey your husband at all times. If you do not he may beat you.

Islam is an ideology which is almost impossible to reform, as Muslims believe that the Qu'ran is the word of God and hence cannot be nogotiated with or changed.
There are approximately 1.2 billion people in the world who would call themselves Muslim. However, a Muslim is someone who strives to follow the Qu'ran to the best of their abilities, so the actual number of real Muslims is about a third of that. That leaves at least 400 million people who want you dead for being who you are.
This is why we are fighting these people on their own turf. If we do not fight them then eventually they will win. For me, this is unacceptable, as I have two beautiful little nephews whom I want to grow up in a world in which Muslims do not threaten them. That is why I am willing to make the sacrifice now.
It is at best naive to state that the aggressor is the US/ UK as it is not us who wants this war - it is them.
We have gone into Iraq to give the people the opportunity to choose their own type of society. If they want to pray to allah then fine, as long as they do not stop people who do not wish to pray to the same god.
It's going to be an incredibly long process (decades rather than years) but eventually we will get there if we can stop trying to tear down our own societies from within.
If you are against the war against radical Islam then you are for them, as failure to act means that Muslims get more and more powerful within out own countries.
So the question is, do you want your children to live under Sharia or not?

I can't say for real - who know, time will tell, but I have this feeling we are seeing that human trait of "hating an enemy" showing.

From the days of Japanese internment during WW2 to Cuba internment now - somehow there is little difference, despite the propaganda.

Then we had the "hate the commies" syndrome where Loius Mayer (on behalf of the govt), made some "documentaries" for US public consumption showing "how the commies hate us" - in fact, they were US actors speaking with "Russian accents" and spouting the biggest load of dribble. (And some complain about Michael Moore?? Especially those in govt, - he is using "their" tools to toss back the bs.)

Some are taught to "hate", but in a subtle way and for very perverse reasons. The volume of government propaganda in the US over the last short while, tho it is clearly known to be not true, contains messages of "hate" because "they are our enemy". This range from, in the early days, bullshit about Saddam, tho he did commit totally inhuman acts. One example was a Bush senior "hate" campaign saying that "Saddam burned babies in furnaces in the desert" - nice one - that is enough to cause horror, but in real life this was a story that cost $6m and was cooked up by a NY ad agency and admitted after the Gulf War.

The "hate" extends to anyone who may disagree with a course of action. How long did it take to get these "French fries" renamed? I still see pathetic and mostly untrue, quips about the French on GFY even now. Shows ya how gullible some are and how effective "hate" can be.

"Hate" is also used as a defence for actions which otherwise the public would not accept. There is a need to "hate" to justify what is often illegal under international law and it can be accepted by having this justification.

Currently, (tho this is "cooling" in the last months, probably because of other needs and an election year), almost all aspects of life as regards "foreign issues" in the US is run by "hate" undertones. "We" are good and righteous and "they" are "evil". Goebels new it was one of the most powerful human emotions and used it well in condemnation of the Jews - the results show.

A "reverse snobbishness" of this is some US people use the "US hater" term to "attack" anyone who criticises the US. I dunno what a "US hater" is - I can't see anyone actually "hating" a whole country, even those with extreme views. This is little more than the "taught hatred" showing.

It's one of these "human traits" that has been manipulated and allowed many "enemies" over the centuries and many killings.

This is even more funamentally immoral when you consider, at that time, the religeous "leaders" were not in power in Iran and there was a democratically elected government.

The US had an oil agenda and needed some ministers killed, among them, the Iranian Finance Minister. They chose Saddam to do the job, knowing his track record as a thug, rehearsed him for months in London and sent him back to Iraq, supported his election to office and them supplied him with a range of arms to flight this proxy war with Iran. (He did kill off the Finance Minister after a few aborted attemts).

This is a man who was US trained and equipped - the US government knows Saddam intimately. They were partners.

Strange bedfellows some have - that includes most of the notorious South American dictators - almost all were US trained at Fort Benning and provided with arms which resulted in mass killings/genicide in their own countries.

Saddam was the only exception - least as far as is known, to not be trained at Fort Benning. Tho he was coached for about 9 months by a team of US "specialists" in London on the assassination of the Iranian Finance Minister and was equipped with both bio and conventional weaponary.
