So, I'm at my son's school picking him up from his last day today and a friend asked me to watch her children for a few moments while she went into the school...

My son and her oldest son are best friends, he's 6 and apparently, a little asshole.

My son and him were playing in the schoolyard when Xavier (This kid) runs over to me, so I poke him in the stomach and he's laughing. He suddenly decides to fall down and start yelling and screaming that I'm beating him (The yard is full of parents and teachers). Great, so now everyone's looking at me like I'm beating him like a redheaded stepchild.

So, after some of these parents have come over to inquire how the boy is, he decides (SUDDENLY) to give up his act and jump up and start playing with my son again laughing and carrying on.

The last thing I need is children's services or the police coming into my life for beating on someone's child. (I've been friends with this kid's family for 10+ years, so I've known him forever). Man, I didn't figure a kid would be so malicious. It seems that he pulls this kind of crap on his mother all the time and as a result has Children's Services all over her ass at all times.

So, the innocence of childhood, sometimes isn't so innocent.

That could almost be funny but if that kid has actually goofed off enough like that to get CPS caled out on his own parents he has some serious issues. I would mention to the parents that their kids humor wasn't appreciated. Some parents aren't gonna do anything about their kids till it starts to effect their social life.

when I was in Jr High the wood shop teacher (Which everyone liked a great deal) was accused for molestion one of the girl students. Anyhow the girl admitted she made up the story, because the teacher failed her in the class. The teacher was fired before the girl admitted her wrong, the teacher suded the school district and won what I heard was 18 million dollars.

I grew up in the 70's where when I fucked up, my neighbor would kick my ass, then tell my mom and she would kick my ass, then she would tell my dad, who would then... you guessed it... KICK MY ASS.... you could call who you want.... you were still gonna get an ass-whoopin..

My mom would have been more than happy to unload one of our rotten asses on C.P.S.... we knew better than to call... LOL

You have to be real careful with that stuff.

My kid accidently got into a bottle of children's vitamins when he was 4. We had to have his stomach pumped because we didn't know how many were in the bottle and excess intake of iron can cause death in young children about 3 weeks after the swallowing.

So when we went to check him out the next day, the hospital children's ward nurse goes you can't leave yet. I said why. She said you have to be interviewed. I said interviewed by who for what? She said the department of children services investigates anytime a child is poisoned. I said poisoned? He got into a bottle of children's vitamins. You're making it sound like we did something awful.

She got real dicky at this point and on a power trip with me and said if you created a problem about being interviewed we'd be interviewed by the police also and the department of children's service would have to take custody of him.

So it took 4 hours for this dumb ass investigator to show up from the county and then we had to endure over an hour of the most absurd questions I ever had asked to me. I was so livid inside but knew I had to keep my cool or they could take my kid.

Made me realize how much power government agencies can pull on you if you don't comply with them.

Scary to put it mildly.

But I had to bite my tongue cause I know these

The reality behind that is absolutely horrifying. It doesn't take much to get put under the microscope by any means. Amazing how fast your life can change in an instant over a possibility of something having happened.
