Funny how the 'wind' only 'blows' the flag when an astronaut is moving the flagpole around. Show me the flag blowing without anybody shaking the flagpole.

While your theory of the light looks good at first glance, I hate to say, that most likely you are wrong on this.

For that path to be correct ( the one you have drawn) the light source would have to have been VERY close to your converging point. To make those shadows have the correct angle as you say.
