Who here is currenting buying or has bought websites before ?

If you have some experience in this field I'd appreciate some advice.

When purchasing websites what is the best service to use to make sure neither the buyer or seller gets fucked over ?

https://www.escrow.com looks very good, would you recommend this or a different service

When buying websites did you write up any contracts for the purchase or is that not nessecary ?

How did you transaction happen, did you part with the money first or did the seller part with the website first or did you just use a service to prevent any complications

Also if you've got anymore advice or info on how best not to get screwed when purchasing websites I'd love to hear it

I just bought 17 domains using escrow.com and it went very smoothly.
Buyer deposits the money, then seller transfers the domains. Once escrow.com confirms the domains are transferred they release the money to the buyer.

If I am buying from someone where we know each other, I just get the domain transferred to me and then wire or otherwise speedily transfer the dough. The one time I got badly domain-jacked by someone outside the US, I used escrow.com and, although the seller demanded I cover the escrow.com fees, it was totally worth it.
