That jelly soft wave looking design style is nice, but I don't think that site looks copied.

Good design is always mimicked though somehow, its just the way things seem to go.

Hey all,

Realitysites.com is not a copy of dick mans design or any other designs.they dont look anything like each other.

of course if you surf the web you'll see things that do appear similer to one another. but that usually is the feeling of the person who feels copied.

BTW do you see any other elements that are borrowed, stolen, similer, exactly alike?

and i appriciate the oppotunity to double my GFY post on this thread!

The only real similarity I see is the striped bars on either site of the page. And those are still pretty different.

Alright everyone, here´s the deal.

I asked Milena to post that today even though I had seen that before because of a couple reasons....

1) People came to us more than once asking if that was designed by us.

2) The realitysites.com flash banner on the footer of GFY is even more similar to our work.

3) We like to be reference, but sometimes its too much, don´t you think?

Anyone who thinks there´s nothing similar is either lying or doesn´t have an eye for design. Sorry but I´m being honest - no offence to anyone. It has the same width for christsake. It has same curves, tons of ideas stolen and EVEN SIMILAR SALES PITCH. Don´t fool yourselves. It was clearly copied.

I dont wanna turn this into a big thing, just wanna ask the designer one thing... Next time please at least be more subtle... Reference is out there. All of us use it. Copying though is not pretty. Not pretty at all. Makes the company who copied look bad (even if they didnt design it) and makes the value of the brand of your design company go to the BOTTOM.

Rs1, no offence to you, but yes, it was copied.

And Juicy, thanks for the view man! LOL

I don´t wanna be repetitive, but already being... We will take no legal action whatsoever, that would be "silly". I´m not pissed because of one main reason, 18partners is our program. If it was my client´s I would be pissed, because they PAY us for our ideas and don´t deserve to have their design solution depreciatted.

I have no need to lie... I love your work... I've been designing shit for adult since 96. My eye is well aged.

theirs is 740, yours is 760... either way, it doesn't matter..
760 is common and so is 740.. i use 760 for everything.

and as you suggested, when you overlay them, they still look totally different.

and like i said, neither is really unique.. there are are a hundred program sites with and another 500 on template monster that have the same layout while looking completely different.

In regards to you taking action. Please do... i always welcome a good comedy...

Those sites, share similarities but only in a general design sense not in a copy sense in my opinion.

That is to say, I wouldn't accuse th reality sites designer of any wrong doing. Just my opinion.

I´m not being Offbase on the flash banner comment man. Look at the wave animation on your banner and look at our flash animation on the main affiliate page.

Second, I said I wouldn´t take legal action. As I said it would be silly and its that big of a deal. Don´t be so ironic and sarcastic man. That type of thing always come back to haunt you. You said everything on the Rodney King quote. Why can´t we all get along? People don´t get along because people don´t act as they should. Its not an ideal world. Now lets get over with this.

I see barely any similiarities, pushing the background stripes is even much as a comparison.

Honestly, both of your sites look much more like scotty.cc's sites, than anyone else's.

As far as I've seen, he was using the formata/folio condensed-type font styles before you guys.

If you are gonna be pushing that they've copied your site, I suggest you take a second to go to scotty.cc...

and look through alot of his portfolio....

Taking influence from someone else, doesn't mean you're copying, it means you're INFLUENCED by that work...

It is more than obvious that you've been influenced by his work, either directly, or by other sites from which were influenced by his... he was influenced by someone else, etc. etc.

It's the life cycle of design.

Unless you specifically see a copy of a site, using the same layout, same colors, same buttons, or whatever...

You can't call people out, because... god knows, someone else will be able to call you out, and it's a big hypocritical cycle.

All it does, is sorta make you look bad, IMHO, unfortunately, beacuse you guys are a great group of designers...

These threads, and thoughts are better left unspoken, until a real copy surfaces, and needs to be addressed.

I DO see the similarities but I wouldn't consider it theft. It looks like the skeletal structure was "borrowed" but the flesh to fill it in is completely different.

I see the same kind of header, the two sidebars, the header with the buttons on the bottom of the header but the colors and content is different. I wouldn't look at one site and think that it looks "just like" the other site but it doesn't. The only people who would recognize stuff like this rip is a designer....No way a surfer could possibly be tricked into thinking that these two sites were affiliated.

I'm pretty offended, too, actually. I have no need to lie as I personally know neither party involved. And I have been designing for around 7 years now and I'd hate to think that I have no eye for design. I still see almost no similarity other than the striped border that doesn't even look all THAT similar, either.

I've had a sponsor show up with a 90% replica of one of my best converting tours. Now THAT'S frustrating.

The removed it when contacted, though. Apparently a designer they hired did the tour. I saw the tour on a designer's portfolio in a GFY sig once, but I forgot to bookmark it and I haven't been able to find it since.

We have nothing to hide or Pass Under the radar. your just being a child, Fact remains these sites are not Duplicates. thats just in your head. and the banner was made by a completely different designer. so i guess i just know how to pick them. And I have been designing for around 7 years now and I'd hate to think that I have no eye for design. I still see almost no similarity other than the striped border that doesn't even look all THAT similar, either. I've had a sponsor show up with a 90% replica of one of my best converting tours. Now THAT'S frustrating. The removed it when contacted, though. Apparently a designer they hired did the tour. I saw the tour on a designer's portfolio in a GFY sig once, but I forgot to bookmark it and I haven't been able to find it since. __________________
