Actually been with them 4 years now, up until about 6 months ago after they were bought out I would have considered it.

The new owners must know what they are doing because I haven't had any major issues since they tookover......

I used candid for about two years ...

I thought I was getting a good deal and good service ... until I switched.

I remember sending emails to support everytime I wanted a new email addie added, a new domain added ... etc etc etc ...

Until I switched and realized that other servers let me do all this shit on my own, while at the same time offering better deals on bandwidth with less downtime.

I know that Candid is switching all users to their new 'control panel' system, but I was an 'old' client and was told that I may not get switched within the year ...

I'm sorry, but what a joke. Maybe for new clients who get the control panel it is better, but for me, it was a hindrance.

I have a box with them and have never had a problem. My account rep Rebekah even icq's and emails me asking if I need anything and if everything is working fine. Tech support seems quick I have no complaints.

Considering I won a year of free hosting with Candid from a contest on another board.... Im getting treated like I am a paying customer. I have servers with 3 other hosting companys and Candid is treating me just as good if not better.

Im sure if you icq, email or call candid they will have the problem solved in no time.

Do you have a shared account, or dedicated server?

Shared account, slow services could mean you're on a server that's overloaded with clients.

I am on dedicated - I already emailed them 3x and ICQ'd one of the account people to get an update...... I just want to know if it's fixed.......

By the way us old customers are still waiting to get moved to the new control panel. I don't think it's going to happen... Kind of sucks too

I use them and was having a problem with sendmail for a few days, but that works now. There have been a few times this week where I haven't been able to get my mail right away, but it was only for a half hour or so at a time. And whether or not my mail is delayed or missing - I haven't noticed anything missing, but I don't know for sure. Otherwise everything else has been working well.

I think I'm having the same problem with Candidhosting, but I hadn't figured it out yet. I have the same setup as you, with all my domain emails forwarding to my local ISP mail account. For the last three days, my incoming mail dropped from 3,000 messages/day to 300 messages/day. I thought maybe my ISP had implemented another 3rd party filter. I'll have to look and see if I'm only receiving mail actually addressed to the local email address. It's probably the case that Candidhosting isn't forwarding any of it. Post something if you get it straightened out with them, okay?

I got an email from another webmaster using Candidhosting. He put in a support ticket on the email issue and received this reply:

>Subject: [candidhosting.com #123456] Mail NOT forwarding
>
>We are experiencing problems with our mail server. This problem has
>been escalated and it is being worked on.
>
>Thank you for your patience.

So, it's being worked on...

If you want to start looking at other possible solutions for hosting, please let me know.

FiberNexus has some very "different" offers to make that other hosts on this forum can not match. We can provide servers, colocation, and virtual hosting for you.

Please let me know if you're interested: [email protected] and we can hammer out some custom pricing for you.

I have 3 dedicated servers with candid since 2 years ago and never had a problem with them (i must admit that i don't ask for support more than twice per year as i take care myself of anythig at my servers and i pay for a remote switch to turn on/off my servers myself). Their email support was slow before, but during the last months it has improved. Also when i have a problem i usually contact MMemmer with my ticket number and he tekes care of that really fast. I suggest you guys to contact your sales reps with your ticket number if you need anything done faster than usual. Overall i'm so happy with them.

Just an update to all!

The mail server for our ticketing system is being replaced this morning and if all goes well is only expected to be down for 15 minutes or less.

Thanks again for your patience.
