Stereo equipment..... Whatcha' got?
Now I know some of you out there have some pretty decent systems in your cars and in your homes. I think it's time to let the cat out of the bag and let the rest of us know what pounds out your favorite tunes.
I shall start... At home I have a JVC receiver (rx-507 I think), a Yamaha 5-disc carousel changer, a magnavox single-disc cd player, an old-school sankyo tape deck and a 27" Toshiba TV sitting on top of it all. Speakers? BIC America main channel speakers, Mission bookshelf speakers as second channels and Altec Lansing speakers for surround sound In my car I've got a Kenwood cd player with that nifty revolving turnaround faceplate, fosgate separates in the front, JL audio 12's in the back, an Audio Control elec crossover, an orion 240gx amp (not currently in use) a fosgate 225 watt amp (runs front speakers) and a fosgate 250 watt amp (powers the 12's). My car doesn't go 'thud-thud-thud' from blocks away, but it sounds damn nice when you're in it. Do you know what the really sad part of all ths is? I want more. More. More. More. MORE. I'm junkie. A fiend. It just be calling me all the time and I can't say no. I try and I try, but I just can't help it. I need it..... I must have it.... LOL ![]() ------------------ Got Fetishes? Did the bass rattle the van apart and that is why you had to get rid of it? LOL

I doubt that somebody can beat my car-audio system here.
I'm talkin of 2x 800 Watt RMS Crunch-Amplifiers that supply a 600 Watt RMS Crunch-Subwoofer, a Crunch-Back-System and a 4 part-Front-System. The ultime test if you have REAL sound in your car is to wear a T-Shirt, turn on the music and hold your arm up in the air. When the hairs on your arm wave to the sound, you know what I am talking about. Felix knows the bass-wind, ask him... ![]() ------------------ SellYourExit - Need to say more ? |

Bass-wind... cool.
![]() This isn't a competition, but yeah, if it were, I'd say you have one hell of a banger over there, Killah. Heh-heh-heh.... Your neighbors must hate you. LOL And don't you have noise ordinances where you live? Cops give out tickets for too much sound from your car -- be it from you muffler, your stereo system or screaming kidnapped person in the passenger seat -- where I live. ------------------ Got Fetishes? yamaha dolby digital receiver hooked up to dvd, vcr, satellite, and my computer. 32" tv also hooked up to the computer. two cerwin vegas (main A speakers), two loud speakers (main B speakers), and kenwood centre channel and surround speakers. one powerized 12" paradigm sub, one non powerized 12" paradigm sub. about 10,000 songs hooked up on the computer. and strip lighting spliced into the main B output that lights up to the bass. the louder the music, the brighter the lights.

Ouch. A buddy of mine used to throw components together in hte back of his busted-ass old cars and they would pound the piss out of a freeze-dried squirrel from blocks away. A complete and total smorgasbord of subs, amps, crossovers and whatever else he could scrounge up or borrow from other people. Neat and tidy? No fuckin' way. LOL Sounded like ass in the car, but all he wanted was to be heard from blocks away.

Oh I agree. His trunk and backseat looked like a rat's nest. Yuck. My stuff is all mounted nice and neat-like on the backs of the back seats and the wiring is pretty much all tucked away. It's not perfect, but I'm also not looking to win any awards or enter any shows.
Sounds good inside the car and there is still room left in my trunk for beer and groceries and more beer. ![]() ------------------ Got Fetishes? Post Your Fetish Galleries Here |

Much like anything else, car stereos are very subjective... some people want looks, some people want bass, and some want clean sound. Personally, the system in my 2-door Blazer is set up to be invisible but pound at the same time. When I bought a SUV I didn't want to clutter up the cargo room with fucking stereo components
![]() Boston Accoustics Pro speakers up front, Rally series in back, 2 12" Kicker solobaric subs in boxes in the side panels (custom job, you can't see nuttin), Premier DEX-P1R head unit feeding one 4-channel Alpine V12 amp and one PPI 600 watt 2-channel amp for the subs. It puts out good tight bass and still has perfect staging on the front end so classical sounds as good as electronica. I've been very happy with it since it went in 3 years ago, aside from having my head unit stolen twice at college ![]() ------------------ 50/50 Celebrity Partnership Program |
