Does spelling mistakes turn you off (a product)

I just reviewed a site about DRM solutions. Listen to the first paragraph:

Quote:
*Edited out* spalizes in providing content owners the ability to make money...
What are you doing again? Spalizing?

I closed the page. If they're not serious about their own presentation, I bet their product is even worse.

I must admit I had a few spelling mistakes on my site but at least I hit F7 (Spell Check) on each page. "Spalize" isn't a verb you can get from a dictionary so it's pretty easy to avoid.

Maybe I'll alert them to the mistake in an email ... I'll feel good for days on end

OzMan, your right, man! I did it on purpose (the your instead of you're) just to piss you off. You can talk whichever way you want on a forum (no spell checker too lol). A presentation is a whole different story, right?

Btw, if you have the time - check www.nichefetish.com. If you find 3 mistakes, I'll send you a free exclusive set (50 pics or so) with license, etc. I'll be happy to correct them too

Oh, either post them here or send them to [email protected]

Yes! And surfers see this in paysite tours and whatnot too.. I'm amazed people don't proof-read more often. I bet they lose a lot of sales due to spelling errors and bad grammar.. I guess most people figure if you can't even correct your language, you are probably from a country that will cheat them. Ask some surfers and find out what they have to say about it. You would be amazed

You can't trust them to handle your stuff well.

If I need info, I don't give a shit if I see mistakes, as I am not bound to the people who wrote it.

If you're talking business and enter a relationship, it counts.

I alerted a webmaster just yesterday about a serious spelling error on his site and he informed me he "didn't give a fuck".

He was promoting his webmaster program and no, I didn't sign up even though it was a niche I need.

You can produce the next "War and Peace", but let there be a blatant typo right on the cover and alot of people's first and only reaction will be "Piece of shit".

I can handle a typo here and there, but they are just that, typos...... but it does jump in my face like a damn truck when I see them and takes a lot of the focus off the product I am looking at. There is a difference in typos and spelling something just all wrong and you can usually tell the difference, but still, they should spell check their work.

I have even caught typos on my own sites, and no matter what I am doing, I run and fix it...... so sometimes they do slip by us, but the plain old fashions spelling errors really drive me nuts. LOL

Sure, thanks 2 more and you get a set. Btw, not to sound apologetic or anything, but the above line was from the latest update - damn, I should've asked a friend or two to read the stuff

OK, you asked, and so you shall recieve:

1) We don't do content blow-outs so your custom content will retain its uniqueness and high value.

There should be a comma after blow-outs.

Hmmm...to be honest, I didn't find anything else. Overall, your copywriting is good.

yes, as do grammar and punctuation

such as:
" Does spelling mistakes turn you off (a product) "

should be

"Do spelling mistakes turn you off (a product) "

Thanks, remember you need to find 3 in order to get an exclusive set from me English is not my native but I do fine most of the time. When I'm not under pressure (like writing a title for my GFY thread, thanks Ivy).

To me, it depends on if they are English speaking or not. If they speak a different language and can't get English grammar perfecly right, I don't hold that against them. If it's just an ignorant English speaking person, that irritates the hell out of me. There's no excuse to be ignorant.
