id liek to just pick up an xbox with no DVD nor HDD in it. Just mod it up, drop a cd-r in it and drop it in a slimline case as a network terminal media center

I've heard that using the Xbox and turning it into a computer produces a better computer than you can find anywhere. My hubby was telling me about an article he read on the subject and now he wants to tear into the kids xbox and turn it into a server...

Just connect the xbox to your home network, setup the xboxmediacenter.xml settings file to use your samba shares and you are all set. Just kepe sure to keep your internal network protected behind a router/firewall when using samba. It's a very powerful system when unleashed, but it's far from the best computer. |

i've got one xbox, it has a chip in it so i can copy the shit straight on no cd's.

I got an xbox and ive used it like for one month continously then got bored of it and it just sits collecting dust
