I would say Madison....
he tried to invade Canada, and got his ass kicked and his house burned down. Bush is a close second, though. ![]()

Lincoln as the best. |

Depends on your point of view. The big pharmaceutical companies must think he is wonderful, considering the return he has given them on what they invested in his election.
You likely need to go back at least 50 years before you find anyone who might qualify as the best president. These days, in common with other western countries, the leaders in the US are chosen by big business, simply because they won't get elected without huge financial backing. If you look behind the headlines, there isn't a president since before WW2 who hasn't bent government to narrow interests and ignored many issues affecting the wider population. |

come on hahahahaon wasn't the best, lets not be silly... he was an aight guy, even though he trimmed our military and intelligence agency to a fucking toothpick, and under his watch Al-Qaeda freely emerged, but hey, if that would have been a republican president, he would've ignored all that shit too, why? the public didn't give a shit.... so hahahahaon was good I say, He reminds me of one of my younger friends old successful dads who always want to hang out with the boys and goto the strip club with us and smoke pot, coo in my book

I hate to say Bush is the worst, but it's hard not to when you look at his record. Not to mention his ties to the Saudi's and his turning a blind eye to 9/11, that sure puts him up there.

![]() Oh and to the guy talking about the furniture, that was completely made up by the Bush administration. There was an investigation and it proved nothing was damaged or stolen. Of course no one cares to find that out, they just see the ticker roll by once saying Clinton stole shit and they make up their mind. Just another example of the liars in office manipulating the heard through the media. |

This really is a hard question to answer because it is so subjective. An issue of importance to one can mean little or absolutely nothing to another. Right or wrong in your eye, a President doing "something" toward some kind of change will either be "bad" or "good" accordingly.
Therefore I propose that a "worst" lable be given to someone who did absolutely nothing of any value, a person who just sort of watched shit happen and had things fall apart on him: Jimmy Carter. Regardless of how "good" his heart and intentions were, he was... well, useless. Most of you are also forgetting that it takes, on average, about 4 years for any "change" to take effect. You can then thank Reagan for the economic "successes" everyone had under Clinton and you can thank Clinton, for the most part, for all that is shitty now. I'm also a believer in a strong military and less handouts, as such I typically tend to favor Republicans, though some of my choices may contradict this due to other factors. Anyhell, IMOHO, in no particular order: Best Presidents: George Washington Thomas Jefferson Abraham Lincoln Richard Nixon Ronald Reagan Worst Presidents: Jimmy Carter Bill Clinton Warren Harding John F. Kennedy Lyndon Johnson |

you can't blame clinton for how shitty america is now. bush took the larger surplus' for granted and wanted to spend like a woman married to a rich guy.
the internet boom was an event that comes along once every generation, can't pin it on clinton he had the economy looking decent by keeping the books balanced. the fed was more to blame for not acting soon enough when asset prices went through the roof. |

Most of you are also forgetting that it takes, on average, about 4 years for any "change" to take effect. You can then thank Reagan for the economic "successes" everyone had under Clinton and you can thank Clinton, for the most part, for all that is shitty now.
hahahaha=> Off the best list.. All my writing is choppy but you?ll catch my drift. The most important is historical perspective, this isn?t just the 20th century with some founding fathers tossed in. Reagan for economic successes? You've conviently forgotten about the S&L scandals, Junk Bond scandals and huge federal deficit under his watch. Not to mention the Iran-contra scandal which trumps anything Clinton did, and is worse than Watergate as an abuse of executive power. The fall of the Soviet Union was a by product of U.S. spending on defense ? namely star wars, but there were deep deep issues with the soviet military complex that started with Afghanistan and ironically the oil crisis. So, a strong argument can be made that the Soviets were headed towards collapse as the market for oil pumpleted?they simply couldn?t keep spending. Reagan?s greatest accomplishment imho was reversing his stance on the ?evil empire,? and opening a dialogue with Gorbechev that led to Glasnost?but it was Gorbechov who took the far far great risk so he deserves most of the credit for that. In fact, Gorby was over taken by Yelstin who demolished the U.S.S.R. and made Gorby a piraha. I think you're significantly overrating him based on the current conservative movement to operate with presidents that fit the mold of "the communicator," while increasing the powers of the executive branch like under Nixon. This has proven to be a dangerous mix under Reagan and G.W. Bush. The Elder Bush is actually quite accomplished in many ways. GW Bush and Reagan lack the intellect, quality of ideas and personal skill Nixon had. People are simply romantizing him because it has led to a rebirth of conservative politics after Nixon. Also you'd have to thank Bush for the economy, using your biz cycle theory, as he was 4 years back . Nixon => Watergate,?he was caught cheating in a systematic way by trying to manipulate the electoral process by actively subverting the nomination of the democratic nominee. Watergate wasn?t an isolated event, Nixon/Kissenger consolidated the power of the executive branch and abused it?this lead to things like bombing Cambodia. However, the same use of back-channel political maneuvering opened China. That connection helped us limit the soviets to some extent. Nixon symbolizes a consolidated strong executive branch at best and worst. He?s off the best, but his dealing with China/USSR saves him from the worst. Critique on worst in a sec?

Critique of worst? LBJ, JFK, Clinton off the lists of worst... Your list looks suspiciously partisan, and prone to influence from the personality of the President, and less about policy and action. Reagan seemed like the grandfather we all wished we had, but that doesn?t make him a great prez, at another extreme in the present era Clinton got his dick sucked in the White House?so what? JFK?s mistress sang to him on his b-day in front of the nation while she was high..but we folks viewed him as a family man. Post-watergate Editors don?t protect politicians from stories critiquing their moral character, like a throw back to the mud-slinging days of the 18th century. JFK for the cool handling of the Cuban missile crisis, that short period was the closest the world has been to outright nuclear conflict. JFK opened the door to dealing with soviets in a back-channel fashion to avert any chances of future nuclear war. ?man on moon challenge,? that most thought was unattainable?I?d hardly call that nothing, and although he also presided over the bay of pigs fiasco he was cool under pressure and manipulated a favorable agreement with Kruschev during the C.M.C. LBJ for dealing with the civil rights era, under the pressure of a faltering policy of communist containment in the Vietnam conflict. Vietnam hurts him bad?more to discuss but not really necessary given the positive performance on social issues that had been largely ignored. Also space exploration dream of kennedy was completed under Johnson. Many call him a great one. Ridiculous to add him to the worst b/c of great society?heck why not add FDR? Clinton was pretty average...no great policy shifts, but didn't spend us into a huge deficit either...partially b/c of the repub-controlled congress. There was no great turmoil, other than dealing with regional conflicts. So by your own criteria, I question those judgments. My list in a sec. My methodology should become clear in a sec. hahahahahahahaha=>
