i have 4 external usb 2.0 200 gb drives...i bought the drives and put them in the usb2.0 caddy

i can run all four drives at once and no slowdown....just as good as scsi, never had a problem

each one cost less than $150 shipping included

the speed of the drive is the speed of the drive, has nothing to do with usb or firewire

usb and firwire are methods of transporting the data to your computer....and usb2.0 is faster than firewire
