you can call me PC but I hate SUV's and find them to be pointless in most cases. most peeps who drive them dont need a gas guzzling polluting death trap to get around,unless they live in a mountain terrain area.

I agree, I don't own an SUV but I couldn't help but think that as I was driving to work today. As you know every 3rd vehicle in LA is either a bmw or suv of some kind.

I think the original posters point was that the more gas you use, the more money you give 'the enemy'; so it's hypocritical to claim to support your country (with the flag sticker), when your actions (driving an unnecessarily consumptive SUV) actually support 'the enemy'. No. Its not like you have a save the environment flag on it. Perhaps you drive the SUV while a family member is on foreign soil, or other reasons. You can still love your country and show the flag even though you utilize a vehicle that many find excessive.

I get 22 mpg and can seat 7 (or carry equal cargo) in my SUV. That means someone in an econobox needs to get at least 44 mpg for the two trips they have to take when I make one

In addition, I live in a 4WD only area and an econobox won't even make it up the roads here.

AND I have a "Proud Parent of the US Air Force" sticker on my car.
