you can call me PC but I hate SUV's and find them to be pointless in most cases. most peeps who drive them dont need a gas guzzling polluting death trap to get around,unless they live in a mountain terrain area.

I agree, I don't own an SUV but I couldn't help but think that as I was driving to work today. As you know every 3rd vehicle in LA is either a bmw or suv of some kind.

it depends on who is doing it. if a person is a bashing on our government then still wants to put a flag on there SUV, my first thought would be there confussed.

It's all a conspiracy by the US Gov't. They secretly flooded the market with these mammoth 5 ton vehicles with huge engines for the last 7-10 years. Then on July 4th, 2004, the average gas price inside the US will be $72.00/gal.

I think the original posters point was that the more gas you use, the more money you give 'the enemy'; so it's hypocritical to claim to support your country (with the flag sticker), when your actions (driving an unnecessarily consumptive SUV) actually support 'the enemy'. Oversimplification perhaps.

No. Its not like you have a save the environment flag on it. Perhaps you drive the SUV while a family member is on foreign soil, or other reasons. You can still love your country and show the flag even though you utilize a vehicle that many find excessive.

I get 22 mpg and can seat 7 (or carry equal cargo) in my SUV. That means someone in an econobox needs to get at least 44 mpg for the two trips they have to take when I make one :)

In addition, I live in a 4WD only area and an econobox won't even make it up the roads here.

AND I have a "Proud Parent of the US Air Force" sticker on my car. :thumbsup
