Anyone Own A Canon G5 Digital Camera???? Is it any good?

You happy with it?

I dropped my camera on the fucking cement up in Vancover BC 2 weeks ago and I cant fix it so it seems.. They want 250.00 to fix it and Im thinking its best just to buy a new one..

It was only one year old and I loved it..

But looking for a new one now.. Im not a content shooting guy so I dont need anything professional.. Just something nice..

Looking at the Canon G5..

They say its their flag ship.. But ive never seen any have one..

Any good?

Well it was an Olympus 4.0 mp.. I bought it for a bit over 560.00 on sale last year.. I saw the same camera at Costoco the other day for 389.00 on clearance! But the Olympus repair place wants 250.00 to fix it. 250.00 to fix a 389.00 camera??

Fuck.

shit I can buy it brand new for just a bit more!

I love my G5.
takes amazing pics.
A little bulky compared to those tiny point and shoot cameras. But great pics. I also use the avi mini movie feature quite a bit.

I also love that the LCD swivels so you can take self portraits and see yourself. Maybe I like that feature too much.

I'm very happy with mine.

Yeah I paid a similar amount for my casio exilim last year. Saw it in radio shack the other day for $399.95.

5MP is crazy. My casio is a 4.0mp and I never even use the best resolution. I really dig it though. It's about the size of a credit card so it's no more of a bitch than carrying a cell phone. I take it all over. Great for when the titties pop out. (well, my friends love to pressure girls to get naked, and my camera seems to help )

Good choice BP, I highly recommend the G5.

I got the G3. Great cam. The auto-focus assist beam rocks, and of course the swiveling LCD screen is great for Self-portraits, and Up-skirts.

I don't have one, but Canon is a very good company and the G series are good too.

I have a Pentax Optio S - and happy.

If you compare Olympus and Canon pictures, shot indoors with auto white balance:

Olympus 5050zoom: 99% of pics has right color balance

Canon G5: 60% of the pics are too yellow

And as you do not shoot content professionally you probably would like a camera with GOOD auto white balance!
