Automatic headers and footers on my webpages
How can I set up an automatic header and footer on my webpages, and is there a way to have it not add to pages that i've already added the footers to? I'm tired of typing the same links on the bottom of each page. Link back to home and counter bs.

either use PHP
<?php include("header.txt"); ?> and rename the files to .php or .phtml or write a .htacces to be able to use php on .htm pages or use SSI think it's something like this: < !--#include virtual="header.txt"--> rename the files to .shtml or again wirte the .htacces regards |

I assume freehosts use CGI to add headers and footers.
As for galleries, I create a template for my text links in Notepad and then cut and paste it into my new gallery pages so I don't have to type that crap anymore. It takes me about 30 seconds to make a new gallery. It takes longer to upload them than make them if you use a template. The one drawback is that all your galleries look the same...but some TGP owners like that...if your galleries are quality then they will automatically recognize your unique template. ------------------ PigPorn TGP Big Penis Webmaster Program - Free Bannerless Hosting! |

I must agree with Rictor's method edit in notepad and then cut and paste it into the html file it's quick simple and easy to update or make minor changes periodically.

I use a simple cgi script on my sites for header/footers.Works like a champ.
xxx-heat said it, use SSI to call the cgi, simply place the < !--#exec cgi="cgi-bin/on/your server.cgi" --> tag in the html and you're in business.. If you want the script fire off an e-mail to me and I'll give it to you. ![]() ------------------ Vector Force...Fast, Reliable Hosting! |
