I assume freehosts use CGI to add headers and footers.

As for galleries, I create a template for my text links in Notepad and then cut and paste it into my new gallery pages so I don't have to type that crap anymore. It takes me about 30 seconds to make a new gallery. It takes longer to upload them than make them if you use a template. The one drawback is that all your galleries look the same...but some TGP owners like that...if your galleries are quality then they will automatically recognize your unique template.
