D-Link DI-624 help

I am having problems with connecting my stationary computer (connected by cable, using windows 2000), to the internet. On my Wireless connected laptop it's working fine.
I have set it to automat receive ip, dns etc. I can access the Lan, and the routers setup page, but not internet.

Any suggestions?

What are your ISP's settings? DHCP too? You would have set it to fake the MAC address of your old network card if this is the case mabye? Just a suggestion.

D-link's customer support really are very helpful. Look for the number on the back of the manual.

I had a problem with my router and modem compatibility and they came through, helped me get a refund when the store was being an asshole about it.

I just called them. The guy told me to restart the router and if it didn't work I had to resend it and send a new one... Still not working.

Might very well be the mac address, or disabled DHCP in the router. But my guess would be the mac address. Can you ping anything from the stationary?

I deleted the host name I had to the laptop by mistake before Now I just have the one to my stationary in the dynamic DHCP client list.

I can ping from both the laptop and stationary just fine. Problem is I can only access the d-link admin page from the stationary computer now. Worked on the laptop before, but I'm not able to login now.

How do I fake the the MAC address?

I use dynamic DHCP btw

You should only be able to access the router admin if you are plugged into it directly.

Check your settings on the desktop.

open IE go to Tools - Internet options- connections- and make sure that you specify never dial a connection....

click the Lan Settings tab and make sure "automatically detect settings is checked"

D-link is the shittiest brand I've worked with.

I've been through 3 D-link routers... Problems on end.

I still hope someone can me as I don't have time to resend the router and wait for a new one...

tried that before and also tried to reboot the cable modem. I'm 100% sure I have the settings to NEVER dial a connection and automatically detect settings.
