i'm curious on everyones stance on the office of the president of the USA.

not just Bush, but i want to include all presidents before.

is the president to blame for all the bad decisions that take place?
or
is the president just a figurehead, and the people who surround him are to blame for bad decisons?

Depends on who is in the house and congress and whether its split by parties or run by the party of the president like it is now. Gives the president more power

The president is more than a figure head, but in the US, oour form of government allows for serious checks and balances.

For instance, most people in the US do not realize that the President cannot declare war. Only the Congress can declare war and only by a two-thirds majority vote. So all the people that blame the President for war are uninformed.

Yep exactly. Plus his cabinent is 10x worse than he is. Condy Rice, Colin Powell, Rummy, and the rest.
