content providers

Besides matrix, do any of you regularly use retouchers to improve the sets lighting and eliminate any blemishes or unwanted features such as tattoos ?

If not, what is the reason ?

Do you not think it makes the content more appealing to webmasters and surfers ?
Does it cost to much ?

What is your reason for not using or not using retouchers ?

Webmasters, what about you ?

I usual find myself retouching almost every set that I purchase.

Also, many of time I have found myself in a position of choosing sets based on how much time I will have to spend retouching them.

Do you retouch the photo sets for your members area or do you rely on the content producer to do that ?

I am a firm believer that content is the key to success. When I see producers selling sets with woman who have outrageous amounts of blemishes and horrible lighting that tends to shine me away from purchasing the set, which is equivlant to the surfer shinning away from purchasing a membership.

What do you think about content retouching does it help increase content/membership sales ?

Discuss...

Hell no.

People who buy from me want amateurs. Amateurs have blemishes and all that other shit. If they want them touched up...They can do it themselves.

I produce content since 1998 and I use retouchers all time.
I think it's work for content producers. Webmasters should receive ready content with good quality.

You shoot exclusive only ?

Are you capable of providing the retouching if it is requested ?

Six and ahalf years and your still in bussiness.

I've many read threads on this board of producers having a rough time lately.

I'm not sure if the ones hurting retouch or not, but seeing as how you do......

Are you encountering a decrease in webmaster purchases ? If not do you think the retouching helps keep your bussiness returning ?

We do some retouching at WantonGirls, not going to photoshop out every little blemish but I guarantee you nobody selling exclusive content at my price goes the extra distance my guy does cleaning up images so they sparkle.

some customers want the real amateur look, if that's what they want then we can do that too but this is the look Wanton's famous for.

grab me on ICQ if this is the kind of content you want.

Most webmasters want the natural look.
Matrix sets ALL look alike.
If you want to get some stuff from us I can retouch them. ICQ me.

Also, I should have mentioned...if you order exclusive from us I will retouch them, no problem.

Matrix used to do a much better job at retouching their photos, looks like they hired a chimpanzee to hit a button and run some Photoshop actions these days.

I have stable sales for last year. It is no more and not less.
Anyway better content is better for sales. Therefore retouching helps sales.

you must be running glamour/babe type sites, those are the only sites retouching counts for anything. Amateur usually means the photography not just the model and the backdrop is amateur. Though i'm seeing interesting stuff on the big amateur teen sites lately, photography is alot more professional than it used to be.

I'm not running any type of glamour site.

Yes, I am also talking about fixing backgrounds and removing dust from scans. The whole photo.

I have about 60,000 non exclusive images but I am no longer producing non-exclusive content.

Yes, I suppose I could if a client wanted it.

Personally i find retouched content "unreal" and in many cases to "barbie-like".

2) Webmasters use content for different sites, among those is amateur sites - where retouched pics simply wouldnt work.

3) Retouching 100.000+ images is time consuming and costly and the only ones paying for this - is you

As for our content, we usually dont retouch - or as we say.. why retouch something looking like this:

In the past, I didn't retouch photos. Recently I have started to adjust color and brightness. It does take a little bit of time, and I give my clients the raw files and the corrected ones.

If it's your pay site I would imagine you have a "look" you are trying to give your "client" to make them want to stay ?

Giving them "TV dinners" retouched like they come out of some factory is not going make you stand out from the rest.

If you don't have exclusive content you can make it look like it's exclusive and it fits in with the look of your site.

Most of the sets shot on digital these days is good quality, you have the base to make it work for you & your look ?

The content provider is giving you the image you have to do the layout and the rest.

Stephen Hicks has been shooting for decades, shots for markets that return $10,000 a set as a minimum and uses professional models.

Matrix are not in the same league, they may call it "Glamour" but it aint.

calmlikeabomb
The situation is very simple, the money is in sets from $10 to $40 today, churn them out and make money. Some want the images corrected and some do not, some can shoot well enough so what comes off the camera can go straight out and some cannot. Bottom line is profit.

We do a crop, some color/levels correction and remove the zits from the girls bum, shoot a girl around her period and she WILL have them and they need removing, and that's about all they need.

But it's time consuming and expensive, for some in the States hardly worth it.

Does the surfer notice? The free surfers don't care, the ones paying $30 a month certainly do.

Just cropped and compressed 50%

Corrected to sell and cropped/compressed to post here.

Thing is any idiot can shoot the first one and the Internet is flooded with it, few can shoot the second one and the demand is bigger.

None of you have ever compared to matrix. The content business has gone to shit because everyone and there mother pics up a camera and they are now a content provider. Matrix re-invented the way content was shot and sold. So until any of you have ever done the quality and quantity they have save your bullshit for people who don't know anything. Mutt you have been a matrix basher since day one. And Charly before you were really as well know as you are you came to the matrix booth to see if they were interested in selling your content. So with that said matrix still has the best quality, yes their quantity is down but that is simply because sponsers are giving away content they buy exclusively or giving it away with out proper permission. It is an absolute nightmare to police and sue the whole industry this is why no one has really succeeded with copyroght infringements
