She came in and was freaking out....... I took a few pics for the hospital to see and for insurance reasons...(Im new to the states and I thought it be best to be safe the sorry)

It took me a few seconds to post a thread here.... hoping I would have some info about this considering Im new to Florida, and posted while Jenn was getting ready to go to the hospital (you know women)

Two minutes after I posted we were out the door and on the way to the hospital.

At the hospital they asked her what happened but the bushes were pretty thick and she didn't know for sure it was a snake. She reached in to grab some flowers and something got her. But from the exam that they did, they confirmed that it was some kinda snake bite but quote "non-venomous" or did not get a full bite considering the wounds and gave her shit for infection and such.

She is back home here now and sleeping and Im ready for bed myself... gotta take care of my angel

From the bottom of our hearts....thanks again for all the kind words, was a trying time for us both.

Night GFY :)

That is some good news bro. I am very happy for both of you.

Things like this are scary no matter what and you did the right thing.

:winkwink:

WarChild 05-21-2004 09:41 PM

Glad all is well. Nobody should get hurt picking flowers. It just doesn't seem right at all.

Great news. After a good night's sleep, hopefully she'll be 100%. :thumbsup

I had this link but I didn't want to post it until I knew she was okay. These are some *great* pics. :Graucho

They're pretty graphic, so if you have a weak stomach don't click on the link and then bitch at me about it. :1orglaugh

Scary site.. I'nm glad Angeleyes is ok.. poor thing.

angeleyes 05-23-2004 08:29 AM

Thanks Guys, but I'm fine, it's not a big deal. It was my own fault for prancing around the woods with my headphones on otherwise I probably would have heard it...

AND there was "no level of stupidity"
After I was bit, I got out of the woods as fast as possible, came back home...... it wasn't turning colors and I wasn't feeling any affects so Ice took pictures for insurance and other reasons. I put some jeans that didn't have a tear in the ass and shoes on when Ice was posting and we went to get it checked out to be on the safe side. If I were feeling ill effects or turning funny colors I would have been the first one to call 911.

Anyhow...It is healing nicely and I'm fine. :winkwink:

pussyluver 05-23-2004 10:07 AM

Great :thumbsup
Like I said pages ago. Taking a minute to post on GFY is not that dumb given the situation (not bleeding etc.). Often there is a ton of knowledge online. If you had a wireless Internet connection on a laptop you may have learned something on the way to the hospital. KRL had already looked up snake bites on the net and info on Florida. GFYers were reporting typical symptoms.

Hey Jenn, I know you're bleeding and all, but before calling 911, I really think we need to start a GFY thread on this first.

When I was a kid, I was throwing rocks at them ... Poison snakes are really rare arround here anyways

Chaldoray 05-23-2004 11:29 AM

California has written about how even if the illegal immigrant cutting your grass falls over with a heart attack and has to go to hospital, the state pays it.

thats america for you.

believe it or not they are closing hospitals here in calif over the use of the system and the abuse of it by illegals.

I can't even understand how it's possible to make a non public system . Just to think about it ... It's just not decent .

ok you are forgiven this time :glugglug

rocki 05-23-2004 12:06 PM

i'm glad angel is ok.... snake bits can be scary when you didn't see what kind it was... i grew up in florida and used to catch every critter i can get my hands on so i have gotten bitten a few times... I got bit in the foot by a black racer snake, bit on the thumb by a red rat racer snake, bit on my bottom lip by a baby ring neck snake, bit on my palm by a sick baby water rat but didn't break the skin (whew)... i think the most painful bite was by a turkey on my bottom lip... ( yes a turkey, full grown and mean) thankfully nothing killed me

:thumbsup
