I heard in Washington they don't even teach world geography. It is just US geography.

Honestly, I wish they were just teasing me...but sadly...that wasn't the case. I can take a good Canadian joke just like the next Canuck. I was honestly curious to find out if they teach Canadian geography, or world geography in schools over there.
It is By Far True. I have HAd "whats the fashoin like up there?"
as for weather i usually end up telling them we had a Warm patch and my igloo started to melt and my penguin Got a cold. Surprisingly it works sometimes.

Canadians pretend to be peaceful but more Canadians are murdered in Canada every year than any other country. ;-)

I have a theory... about the climate misunderstanding, anyways.

I, like many other nucks, see the tide of yank vehicles coming north every summer, usually with skis (!!) strapped to their roofs... and yes, occasionally the odd snowmobile on a trailer. They invariably look confused when they get here.

My theory is based on watching an american city's local weather guy. On his map, the US temps are all in Fahrenheit. On the Canadian side, they're all in Celsius. So anyone looking at the map and not aware of metric (like a good portion of the US, probably) thinks that Canada is ALWAYS below freezing, except in particularly hot months... and that by crossing the border on a typical spring/early summer day you'll drop 50+ degrees (going from 72 to 20) as soon as you get out of customs. :1orglaugh

I also theorize that beer down there is so crappy because of the wide availability of firearms... you can't get into a serious shootout when you're forced to go to the washroom every 5 minutes, and by the time you get back you've already sobered up from what little inebriation you've built up. :glugglug

Growing up in Canada, we still had to learn US geography so I always assumed that US students learned about Canada as well. Wasn't until my sister moved to Texas that I realized how little they know about their northern brothers.

Maybe we should team up with Elli & start an education movement? hehe.

I think your alittle off base and dreaming abit?

first of all I live in vancouver canada not vancouver/USA

the one in canada where I am, I can landscape have the lawns done almost all year round? go boating 9 months of the year as well. you can't do that in most of the US cities, right..

and I liked mostly pulling in the US currency and turning it into canadian dollars but even the US money isn't as strong as it once was.. nor is the controlled corrupt adult industry getting any better either.. I think everyone in the porn biz fucked up visa so badly it killed the creditcard collections pretty good. We might be seeing something falling apart and then some how restarted again in the future? I even tried tons of CC/CH/processsors
and they were worthless for the most part. again possibly own buy the wrong people..

So anyways next time you think canada is a burden think again?
We here in vancouver are a major supplier of water that CALA/frisco needs and owes us a shit load of money for witch they never payed us! I think in the next 100 or so years maybe
"Cali" will end up being a desert in ther future seeng they have little water and can't extract enough water from the ocean process! so next time your drinking some water or having a shower or owning a farm? there think of us stupid canadians
huh.. again use your brain before you utter a sound by some orfice you have.. :winkwink: :2 cents:

Facts: if you had a question/answer a general knowledge program on TV, between both countries old canadians would win hands down! now if you had a world one well americans would maybe still sit in the top 10 maybe?

If a bright person took off on a road trip hit some Universities in different countries asking a series of questions filming this and the end result would make alot of americans look pretty foolish!

just my opinion:Graucho :2 cents:
