Read up on deSaussure for some insights on how language defines reality.

That's part of the reason why the uneducated are considered stupid whether they are or not... if you can't conceive and relate your thoughts in a complex manner, how can you understand your reality in a complex way? Matters which are shades of grey get polarized into black and white.
