there's not a sponsor blacklist because it's too hard to prove and the threat of legal action is too high. I had something like that going several years ago and sponsors were only posted if there was hardcore proof and the proof was also posted. But, the sponsors have deeper pockets that most of the individual webmasters so they could have filed lawsuits for defamation much easier and forced the company posting the information into bankruptcy.

if you set it up as a message board with proper disclaimers you're fine. they'd have to sue the individual then come at you with court papers saying take it down.

It was a message board situation and it did have valid information on it. But when threatened with impending legal action in a state other than where you live (regardless of whether they win or lose) would still cost you a pretty penny so I went ahead and pulled the site.

As far as a sponsor going through discovery when filing a suit I completely agree with you but like I said the threat alone scares enough people off. If it were run and/or organized by someone with deep enough pockets that a legal suit wouldn't bother them it would work well.

PIB is bringing the site back online. Prolly with some security now. I used to send them traffic, but pulled way back when the numbers on conversions weren't there. So if they were shaving, it turned out to be self defeating.
