Race-mixing was considered equally unnatural, and was equally unpopular, but ultimately it will be an issue of civil liberties. The outcome will be the same; government cannot give benefits to some and deny the same benefits to others based on race or sex.

If it is your opinion that 'marriage' is a religious thing, then the government never should have endorsed it to begin with. The government and religion must remain seperate.

IMO we should have had 'secular civil unions' (recognized by the government) and 'religious marriages' (recognized by the church) for all committing couples of all orientations; with only the secular union granting special legal rights, and leave the religious 'marriage' ceremonial bs optional.

But too late now, the government decided to call their status-granting "marriage" too. So religionists will have to deal with it. In the law of this country, liberty superceeds religion.

People have been getting 'married' since before any religion that exists today was invented. There have been a lot of wacky versions of marriage a lot worse than two socially-equal people of the same-sex marrying for love. At its core, the purpose of marriage is to make previously unrelated people a family, and the familys people choose to form are personal and private.

I lean on your last verse family "making families" and children are involved and innocence of children perhaps are broken..

not some guy in drag wearing a wedding dress thinking it's cool to be gay and married.. like I said it's a FAD and will subside in time.. (there all doing monkey see monkey do) there all saying lets have a gay wedding and a big party after words thats all.

The ignorance of the religious right is shown by what they say and how they say it. It's amazing that when pressed for ONE concrete thing that would be WRONG about gay marriage, they can never come up with anything.

You get terms like this: "there is.. morally there's a break down in society" What the fuck are you talking about dood? WHAT morals? Whose morals?? What break down specifically takes place..and who in society is affected and HOW?

You have nothing..nothing..but worn out slogans that were big back in the 50's & 60's about black people.

NO! and there's no contribution to society either..

I'll tell you something I don't agree with this gay/lesbian stuff.

I have a family member that's gay and we speak regularly he knows I don't jive over his shit..
he mentioned to me he was trying to buy some place a new home in a townhouse developement but turned him down because he was gay. he was balling his eyes out because of his gender and the homes weren't cheap and he has alot of money they told him they wanted families to live in the complex..

this is something to look at and I never new there were restrictions in certain cities . :winkwink:

well Mr. friction, there was nothin happening only you trippin over your distorded mind..

the points i'm making and everyone else is there opinions..

I remember back in 95-97 there were hardly if any tranny sites online and the real tranny population was very few and farless
in North America so what i'm getting at was the gaymale prostitutes are coming from the gay area mainly and there getting tit jobs etc.. like I said Vancouver is the melting pot for gay and lesbians in canada. the tranny numbers are booming the gay are dressing like trannys so there are infacted there's less women on the streets.. "times are changing"

lastly I don't need to have any fun and pay for it?
I have my own club and I have my own hoes and there women.

anyways what say you..:2 cents:

I disagree.

Although marriage is a Christian ritual, the symbolic joining of two partners for "life" affords them in the eyes of the law certain rights.

Married couples have rights to pensions do not have to pay inheritance tax on property passed between them when one dies and have access to hospital records. These are just a few among about 1000 special rights that married couples get.

All gays/lesbians want is equality. The "marriage" is just a tag for equal rights in the eyes of the law.

Enema 05-18-2004 11:56 AM

You only believe it's "wrong" and "against nature" because that is what you've been brought up to believe.

There are other people in this world that are smart enough not to blindly believe everything they are told. The type of people that know how to use "they're" "you're" and even that weird thing, "common sense".

Doesn't christianity also teach that masturbation is wrong? Anal is most definitely wrong, sex before marriage is wrong, fantasizing about anyone bar your husband/wife is wrong, displaying your goods for the world to see is wrong... yet here you are, an adult webmaster endorsing/promoting all of these.

Aren't YOU going "against nature"?
Aren't YOU assisting the breakdown of the "moral fibre"?

Son, you might be legally retarded.

I agree with you 100% personaly I detest religion. It's man-made and does nothing but anger people and cause wars. I beleive there is a God and I believe God created us to evolve. There is nothing wrong withs gays in my view. The reason for Adam and Eve was to create a large population of people and frankly they did one hell of a job and now we've got way too many people then we know what to do with. Who's to say some of humanity is evolving to become gay to balance out reproduction couples?

On another note homosexuality has always been around since the beginning of time. If you don't believe me then do some research yourself. It shows up in every era of time, every culture and for both sexes. This is no new topic. And like Enema said; it's not the idea of a Christian wedding... it's being able to be an equal couple and in today's society it means ot be able to marry and have the same rights.

you know why? it's called risk! we if were normal and get hitched
have children and there's growth in the family
social gathering you know xmas time grandma/grandpa from both parents show up etc.. a chain of events are occuring if you have samesex parents wheres the the chain of future events coming from may I ask? you as the parent are suppose to growup and get old and be that grandma or grand-parent.. duh?:winkwink:

if your a samesex parent "OMG" then where's the kids or family?

there's hardly any risk for samesex marriages if they don't like it they break up.. easy as 123.. there only hurting themselves not the hole family because there isn't any.. if BUSH ban this perfect!

anyone still wanting to be inline for a samesex marriage go to another country move there! :winkwink:

JDog 05-18-2004 12:06 PM

Why does everybody care about marriage? I'm sure a same sex marriage would last a hell of a lot longer than 90% of the different sex marriages. In today's society, atleast in the us, marriage is a toy. Once you get bored, you get rid of it! People getting married 5, 6, hell 10 times! Common, we don't respect the thought of marriage anymore! Marriage doesn't have the same meaning it had years ago, and not many of them last! Yet we're worried about a couple of homosexuals getting married.

I think the reason nobody wants the gays to get married is because they know that the gays will last a shit load longer than any straight marriages. It's sad, but I'm just about sure they would!

Dawgy 05-18-2004 12:09 PM

This country always has, and always will, abide by the Bill of Rights on a selective basis. If it's convenient politically at the time, then certain rights for a certain group will be given. If it is more politically beneficial for those rights to be denied, then they will be denied.

I don't believe this country will ever 'legalize' gay marriage on a national or constitutional level. There are too many conservative christian people in office and voting for those who are in office. Whether we like it or not, religion plays a part in our government and affects every American's life on some level.

What's amazing to me is the blatant hypocracy of it all. These so called christians with their superior morals defending the sanctity of marriage, when all along the divorce rate in this country is approaching 75% or more.

I don't think this is really about god? its' if the world is ready to this sorta of discusting/crap. I still don't see the equality there.

as far as the the samesex thing is purely a fad.. yes homo'sa and lesbian relationships have been around along time but they were
no obligations *flings* that was that.. the socalled equality has hidden in the closet because society doesn't like it and except it yet.. like I said I have a family member and he was pretty much thrown out of the family treated differently because the elders didn't see him as a man..I try to keep the religion principals outta this.. but the churches don't really want to be on hte hot seat for htis and there letting the marriages fly so there won't be fighting
amongst the public. they look back at it as gods mixed up flock
I guess. he.he. i'm not sure.. :)
