Shaving webmaster programs
I thought I'd throw this topic out for discussion:
It seems like there are so many accusations about webmaster programs shaving stats that it seems like a normal business practice in the adult industry. Is shaving considered an illegal business practice when put in context of the law? Also, has any company ever been sued because of shaving or does the adult community just take law into their own hands by letting it be known among members of the community. |

It is not a normal business practice.
Shaving would be illegal. As far as I know nobody has been sued for shaving. Proof would be a pain to show in court, but discovery would be a royal bitch for the company. |

Here's something else to think about. If shaving is considered illegal then can't MPA2 or any other script get into legal trouble because it offers a shaving feature in it's software? It would be promoting a business practice that is illegal. This isn't a post to bash on MPA2, just something to discuss.

proof of shaving is not hard to get, seems easy if you have access to 10 friends with credit cards, a video camera, and a few different computers with different versions of aol to dial up. or maybe even buy 10 win2k box's. they are like 99$ at servermatrix. Flip the camera on. buy a bunch of shit traffic and start joining. wouldn't that hold up in court? i don't see why it wouldn't..

If found guilty in court for shaving how serious would the charge be to the company? Would it be considered something like stealing or more serious like embezzlement, fraud, etc....?

That's why I believe in the 3rd party billing... If some one tells you thay will pay $30.00 per sign up... and you send 2 and they shave 1 your really only getting $15.00 and then no rebills... ?
I don't know... but the 3rd party to me adds something to the program... IMHO |
