Lens just needs to take some of that cash and hire people to do the job.
All they have to do is enforce the rules..they cannot post other than to warn , lock a thread or ban.
You could get some college kids to do it

Just hire enough to cover shifts. They don't have to work a straight 8 hour shift, but they have to monitor the boards during their shift..as well as monitor emails etc.

It's not that difficult to figure out.

You can't have 1 guy in the office doing whatever his main job is, plus send out t-shirts and moderate a board.

At this point the board is about advertising revenue. Advertising revenue is based on traffic and posts. More traffic and posts the higher the advertising revenue for Adult.com. Do you really think they are going to reduce this by moderating the board?

Bottom line. Posts with business related content and other useful information don't get page views and don't generate posts.

Drama, "woud u hit this" and other crap posts generate page views and posts. You start moderating this board and the kids who post this crap all day will goto another board and generate page views and post for someone else.

Wanna improve the board? Remove signatures. 90% of the threads this board are to generate signature views. Remove the signatures and you will see a drastic shift in the content of threads as well as the people who post.

I am guilty of looking for the names of posters I like and dislike. Their posts are the only ones I view if the subject is a ridiculous two word nonsensical BS heading.

I decided long ago that I would have to accept the BS threads along with the ones which have some meaning to me. If moderators started cracking down on the idiots, GFY would be a wasteland and the kiddies would find another playground.

I can't see Lensman doing away with sig lines because there are too many powerful webmasters who would leave and go to Net-Pond, O-Prano, and that newbie Brad Shaw's board. (Just kidding, Brad!)

Fix the technical glitches and I would be happy. It also would be nice if GFY carried through with their promises and contests. The Miss GFY was flying along making everyone happy, then BLOP! Stick to a schedule and keep the momentum going.

Mutt, most of the posters with high post counts are idiots. How do you know whom you can respect? What does post count have to do with anything? NOTHING! The webmasters I respect do not live on pornboards. They have more important things to do with their lives and their businesses.

Each board has a special personality. Lensman set the mood for GFY. Now, he has to figure out a way to weed out the assholes who have nothing to contribute. More moderators is not the answer.

There are a few things to consider:

sift through all the underage and non adult industry posters and what would happen to the board if they were gone?? GFY needs the appearance of major hits to get funding / advertising

GFY is not a board that is known for its informative discussions and business related topics - if that were the case then the underage and non adult posters would be gone within a week.

What makes this board so successful is the diversity of posters and the overall shock value of posts you dont find anywhere else. As is apparent, you post an industry related article and the post count is low - yet you post it on another board that has more webmasters on it - and there will be major hits.

Lens is not stupid, "whoever has the hits has the power" and right now, Lens I dont feel cares where the hits come from, its in the overall power of hits this board produces that makes him the money and the idea that each page you hit is considered a unique hit with new banners.

Moderators would have to be respected and tolerant without playing favorites to anyone. I also dont think Lens wants to create a battle within his ranks if a moderator cancels someone then they go over his/her head to squeeze Lens into a favor.

Lastly , for what its worth, YNOT is not suffering in the least...I am a moderator on that board.
